I have the impression from threads I have read here that you cannot take cuttings from a plant in flower. Is this true?

While I'm here asking ... Turning a plant into a mother, simliar question
When you have a nice plant that has flowered and has shown excellent potential as a mother how do you keep / turn it into a mother. Do you just harvest it and leave enough bottom leaves so that you can put it under 24/24 to veg cycle again ... or do you just take a cutting from it while its in flower and grow a clone?
you alright...

if you have a plant you might want too keep. you should take a cutting first. then put the plant in to flowering.. and if its good. let it flower and keep the clone.. but if u take a cutting from a flowering plant. it should root. but will take about a month to re veg.. or you can re veg the plant you have.. put it back into the normal cycle. 18 hours. 6 off. and it will slowly grow back
