I accidentally snapped off a side shoot from a plant that is 3 weeks into 12/12. I re-cut it underwater and put it in a plug oozing with rooting gel.
I have the impression from threads I have read here that you cannot take cuttings from a plant in flower. Is this true? While I'm here asking ... Turning a plant into a mother, simliar question When you have a nice plant that has flowered and has shown excellent potential as a mother how do you keep / turn it into a mother. Do you just harvest it and leave enough bottom leaves so that you can put it under 24/24 to veg cycle again ... or do you just take a cutting from it while its in flower and grow a clone? |

nice rootage resinator . be prepared for some strange , funky growth during the initial re-veg (single , curly , frosty leaves , weak thin stems , pistils) . i think the key to a fast re-veg is strong light , with 20/4 giving good results .
these clones were taken 14 days into 12/12 . still throwing pistils and funky leaves after 2 months under 36w fluros . 2 weeks under 600w MH and they're 100% veging again nicely . this was the first time i v had to use clones from flowering plants . wouldn t recommend it but as a last card in the pack , it works ............

Yeah, the leaves from flowering seem like they are continuing to grow. I'm tempted to just put it straight to flower now but that would defeat the purpose of keeping this backup clone alive in the first place.
Yours look like they survived ok. Well done. This one can go back with the other misfits and veg for a while. Lets see how long it takes to spit out some normal fan leaves. |
