Well for the first time in any of my grows, I am jumping on the Coco bandwagon. After seeing the success that many have had with this medium, I am very excited to see what results I have compared to soil. Honestly Soil was hit or miss with me. Id try a different soil mix everytime to try and dial things in, but Id never quite seem to get it. Hoping that using THE RECIPE as a guidline for my grow will help out a lot of those problems.

Well here goes....The stuff you wanna know...

Here's what I have germinating:
4 MOD Godberry
4 SOL Blubonic
3 Outlaw Grower SFV OG Kush x Double Purple Doja (Thanks very much to Outlaw for the generosity for the tester beans!! Hope I do em up good for ya!)
3 Nirvana Shiva (Freebies)
1 SOL Sweet Tooth #3 (got an extra seed in a 10 pack, so why not?)


Equipment/Nutes/etc...
GH CocoTek Mixed Bricks/Fine Bricks for seedlings
GH Flora Bloom
GH Flora Micro
GH Liquid Kool Bloom
GH PH Up and Down
Hannah PH meter
Hannah PPM meter
Im using tap water, which I then put into a bucket with an airstone for at least 24 hrs. My water is +/- 150ppm
Starting seedlings in 16 oz Solo Cups, and will transplant into 3 gallon grow bags 1-2 weeks before I switch to 12/12

Veg Lighting:
64 Watts of T8 Flourescents for seedlings, then 400w Cool Tube w/ MH conversion bulb (@ 35000 Lumens)

Flowering Lighting:
400W HPS CoolTube (55000 Lumens) w/ modified Stanley Blower (@ 256 CFM)

The dimensions of my cab are roughly 2ft Deep, 3ft Long, and 6ft High, so Ive finally got the room to have some larger plants as my first cab only allowed me to have 4-1 gallon pots w/ only about 2.5 ft of headroom.

While Im waiting for some more progress for updates, I figured Id post some pics of what came down from the last grow in my old cab... The seed came from an old freind, who Im not in contact with anymore, so I cant verify anything about the genetics...All he told me was that the buds were "dank and purple foxtails"...

These ladies went around 7 weeks without any purpling or foxtailing, but very coated in resin. However about week 8, the foxtails started shooting for the sky... Calyxes started turning purple at the base of the foxtails, and by week 10 after a 1 week flush, the foxtails were mainly purple except on the tips, which remained green. It ended up running 12 and 1/2 weeks, which was much longer than I had anticipated, but the extra time certainly seems worth it. It is really a beautiful plant, the trichs covering swollen purple foxtails offset by the dark orange pistils. I wish that my camera skills were a bit better, and that my camera had a better macro function but still, I hope you all enjoy.













Right now these nugs are in the jars curing... I think these pics were from around week 10. I'll try to dig up some from the harvest.

nice line up COS just missed the OGK X DPD from outlaw ended up getting the DPDx URKLE which will still produce a very nice plant...i'l be dropping by from-time-to-time to see how the OGK cross turns out for ya..

JollyGreen, yeah I cannot wait to get some of those babies into flower...I havent seen any pic of them in flower yet, Outlaw told me he hadn't either, so Im in for a ride!! Should be great. Hope your SFV ladies root!

Well guys...I have a few questions for any of you Coco growers (or anyone really...
I know that many say that you should be using CalMag + with your Coco, but I know the modified Lucas formula that Head uses and "The Recipe" don't call for it at all...And they are most likely using RO water. My question is this, since my water (after bubbling for 24 hrs) usually has a PPM of @150, which I have read is pretty optimal if you arent going to go the RO route, since it will most likely have the extra Cal and Mag in it...I think I read that in this months SKUNK in an article by the Rev...

So do you think I need the CalMag? Seems like an extra expense I may not need ATM...althogh i heard it does help blossom end rot, which decimated my tomatoes last year...

Any thoughts would be great...

Also, since some of the seedlings are maybe 7 days old, do you think it is time to start feeding? I gave them plain PHed water until the last tiem I watered which was with 1ml/gal of FloraGrow. They are starting to dry out a bit again (which I want, to develop a healthier root system early on), so I think It may be time to increase the ferts...maybe 2ml/gal Micro + 2ml/gal Bloom? Too much?! Too little?!

Thanks very much for any help guys. They all are looking healthy, but one Shiva looks like it couse use some N...being new to coco I dont wanna overfeed to early, or let them starve since I know the coco wont be feeding them...

Oh and as a quick update, the Sweet Tooth baby has joined the party and is above soil and soakin up the rays!:

Well...not too much to update yet guys.... I was right and the babies needed a feeding desperately...some of the coteyledons (sp?) yellowed, and 1 Shiva (that largest) started to yellow further up the leaves...

But I managed to dig up dome more pics of the "Purple Fox" as Im calling this plant... All of these shots are between 85-91 days 12/12... I think most are from 91...
