Heres some pics of my plants on day 15, one is day 12 i think. They are doing good to my standards. However theres a problem with one, the biggest one. The edges around the leafs are starting to turn brown. I got 8 26w 6500k cfls, and 1 27 5500. I have fimed and LSTed the 5 biggest.
In the near future i hope on upgrading the lights to a 400 or 600 watt hps. Im kinda scared to get it, dont know if its worth spending that kind of money on. Ive heard fantastic things though. My biggest worries are the heat and the electricity bill.
I also want to get a ph pen so i can test ph, but the are pricey too.
I think soon im gunna start using nutes on the bigger ones, but havent made my mind on which ones to get.

Dont be scared lol.....if you want some decent buds you are going to have to upgrade to a hps for sure mate....and the heat and cost of running one 400w hps is minor..

Hi Rocky,
i agree with Logic - running a 400w doesn't use as much electricity as you think it would, i use a single 400w as well and the amount of money it takes to run it is pretty minimal, regarding the heat they give off (which isn't too bad) i just put another oscilating fan in the grow room pointing in the direction of the bulb pushing the hot air out/away from the bulb area

You could also try a 250 watt HPS to begin with if ya wanted...? It will give you a bit less heat for small spaces. But like Logic and Hazeseeker just said, you'll yield better with the 400.

As for electricity usage, a small electric heater that I have here states on the label that it pulls 800 watts. Look around your house at your different appliances, there will be a sticker on them that states voltage, wattage, frequency(Hz), etc... That way you can begin to visualize just how small the "spike" would be for 250 or 400 watts of light.

That's a really good point PGW - I know watts in PC terms....it helps me to scale it regarding power supplies...typically 300w-500w depending on how hardcore you are, some even further....so flicking on a PC with any kind of a decent graphics card in it will look like a 400-600w bulb anyhow and most are kept on all the time....

oh and btw some funny shit happened to me over the weekend. (well not really funny more like shitty)
Well i just moved so its hard for me to get green, so i gotta go out and find people at gas stations and shit, so last saturday i go out looking for some, and i found this dude and he said he was about to go pick some up and he would call me in 20-30 mins, so he calls me shortly later saying he got it and where do you wanna meet. So i meet him at the mall and give him the money and he gives me the green real quick. So i just throw the bag in my pocket, i get home open the bag up and dump it out on the table and it was grass, like grass that comes from under a lawn mower. I was sooooooo angry, but i knew there was nothing i could do cuz those fuck heads got their quick money, which i wipe my ass with, but still pretty shitty. It was in a cellophane when i got it and they had it all rolled up tight and shit, and i just glanced at it and it looked green so i just threw it in my pocket! FUCK!

yea i got his number, ive already called him a few times and had a couple nice conversations with him..
But cussing the guy out only makes me feel a little better, not until im able to hurt him or get my money back will i be feeling better
