Finally got around to snapping a few pics of my latest grow. First time with a waterfarm and the results are impressive thus far. I usually grow in 2 gal of promix, perlite and worm castings so this was my summer experiment. My space is 3(l)x3(w)x5(h).
The strain is called 'Yellow Haze' by the person it came from but I'm guessing it's NL5/Haze or similar. Pretty good resin coverage and the smell is just developing. This was a beat up cutting that was revived from a mite infestation and was struggling along. I nursed it, topped it, and threw it in the waterfarm. No one I know grows hydro and the growth rate blew me away. I've been using Pure Blend Pro, Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag+, and cannazyme. Here are some pics at day 37 of 12-12: Very sativa leaning plant. I'm expecting 70-80 days and I'll post up some more pics when things heat up. Last edited by hererisssh; 09-03-2008 at 03:56 PM. |

Same here...I've got a waterfarm waiting for cooler weather to be used and some chunkier coco - I want to do coco in mine rather than clay.....but need to work out how to modify the waterfarm to handle coco (i.e. not clog) using tights or something. WIll be watching this grow with interest. Nice work on the LST too.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. This seemed the most heat resistant strain of my moms so she was the choice.
I haven't done any res temps but root development is strong thus far. I drilled out all the holes in the upper chamber that lead to the lower res and drilled one more hole in the corner to pass a tube through to the res for an airstone that runs 24/7. I've kept up with cleaning the drip ring and only had one problem thus far with the waterfarm. The drip ring went dry and I thought the pump died. I carefully pulled out the airline and drip ring down tube and found the airline was a little clogged and had pulled out of the fitting the secures it to the down tube. Once that was reassembled things were right back on track. FF: I'm in hydroton which came with the WF and it's worked remarkably well. I couldn't see a reason to switch to coco unless I didn't have the hydroton. Funny thing with the LSTing of this plant... I ran some wire around the farm, below the top lip of the upper bucket, and trained with ties anchored to it. I was trying to be gentle as I was pulling on large woody branches. After one session I realized the entire plant ripped in half at the top of the meristem. The tear was huge and I thought it would stunt this thing big time, if it even made it. I taped it together and didn't even slow down. Hydro power I guess. |

Right ON man! Great lookin plant. I think your use of LST is just about "picture-perfect" as they say. Looks like your getting great light penetration.

Thanks progrow, I've been using LST for a long time now and it always works great for me. I think it's a must for yielding well from a 400 watt.

I would have to agree hererisssh. I think so much of LST that I haven't grown without doing some from of it in a long time.
