Hiya folks
I recently built an LED array, it consumes 52W of power, 46W of this is used by the LEDs - 8 red Luxeon IIIs and 4 warm white Luxeon K2s. I have four clones flowering under it as an experiment - two El Yucateca Mexicans, a Purple Afghan and an unknown clone that I lost the label for. I've lost track of how many days in they are, but they are flowering really nicely, in fact, at least as well as they did under my 250w HPS. Sorry for the shitty phone cam pics, but I lent my cam to a friend for a while. Here's some pics of the array: There is a 160 LED pnael mounted on the back wall with warm white, cool white, blue, UV and red LEDs, it conumes another 10.5W wo I have a total power consumption of 62.5W. |

If this turns out as well as it looks like it's going to, I'd love to own one.....if you plan on selling any, that is. Great work so far!

It's just a diy effort, if it works well, I'll share all my info on how I built it, but at the mo they aren't that cheap to build, but the energy savings will pay off the greater cost vs a HPS before too long.
Never built anything electronic before so I've been through the mill learning the hard way by getting my hands dirty. I have built another 160-LED panel, 5 60-LED UV panels, 2 60-LED red panels and 3 65-LED Blue/UV/White panels too which I will be adding to the grow after this first run, each panel has it's own on-board constant current supply (voltage regulator/resistor combo) and I am going to computer control them via a USB interface so I can switch them on and off as I wish and experiment till my heart's content with all kinds of light regimes. I've also built a couple of these 17-LED 25W lights with 10 x red CREEs, 2 x cool white CREEs, 2 x warm white Luxeon K2s and 3 x Edison opto UVs, they are setup in a smaller space with 6 small clones flowering under them. |

The red Luxeons are 7 bucks each from ledsupply.com, the white K2s are only $3.11, the white CREEs, 20 bucks for 5, the red and blue CREEs $4.50 each, drivers are a matter of choice, so many options, but a 50W one can be had for only 17 bucks:
