Damn kush the hydrologic sounds like a pretty solid R/O system. I may consider getting that instead because the cheap Ebay one only does 50gpd lol.

There is no need for DI. There are 2 leading ebay/online vendors I found (see OP) and they all have a dozen or more system options. Different filters and stages and rates to make up a complete package. If I ordered from them, my plan was to get the top of the line but without the DI option.

I've been using a Nimbus Watermaker Mini Faucet-Mounted RO for about 6 years. It produces about 10 gpd, and attaches to the faucet. Not a lot of water, but it has served my drinking and plant watering needs. It brings the ppm down to about 10 ppm. My local water is 95 ppm.

I broke the plastic housing on the Nimbus, and decided to try another system. I bought one of those Zero Water systems. It brings my water down to 0-5ppm! They even throw in a ppm meter! There is absolutely NO waste from this system. It's like a Brita filter on steroids. You can get a pitcher unit for about $30, and a larger tank that fits on a water cooler. Pretty cool unit for a small grow. I think that the filters need replacing fairly regularly, but with my tap water being only 95 ppm, I won't have to replace near as much.

I decided on a merlin pro 750 gallon. It cost me about $450 which was cheap for this model. Using a washing machine faucet I can almost get water on demand, almost being it still takes 20 minutes / 5 gal of water.

I could have went with a lower output ro machine with a reservoir and float valve, but I didn't want to deal with standing water or another thing to get wet.
