Well I have been making oil using iso alcohol for about 3-4 months now and after getting a metal coffee strainer and using that as my 1st filter have finally achieved the quality I see that I have longed for.
My question, since I haven't used butane, is why do so many people use it? What are its advatages over alcohol? I like alcohol for these reasons Cheap - less than a couple of bucks for a good size bottle It seems to be more safe (Ive accidently spilt some on hot surfaces and no flame or explosion) Taste is pretty awesome too, sometimes better than the original product depending on the grade of the herb Quickness- If you use a fan or hair dryer decent size batches are done in an hour or 2 depending on the heat your adding Sorry I dont have any pics, but i usually like to dry mine up pretty good after it has initially dried to get it to chip off my plate when i scrape it so it is hard and not as liquid until you play with it, then it melts back very fast. I would like to hear all your opinions whether you tried both or just one or the other, and please no flaming, everybody is entitled to their thought no matter how absurd or wrong it may be IN YOUR OPINION. |
