Please don't post pics that have been retouched with the sharpen filter
Hello folks
I've noticed an increasing number of plant pictures posted on the internet have been retouched using a sharpen filter to make the plants look frostier, this is wrong and I really don't like it, it's the visual equivalent of a verbal lie. Not pointing any fingers, but it's becoming more and more common.
Here is a quick example I knocked up to show you what I mean:

Being ‘stoned’ is not my goal. Being ‘high’ or ‘enhanced’ is. Simply, I am not into the ‘stupification’ aspects of herb. I like herb that opens me up, that brightens my day, that makes me think and feel in a more positive way. I am also into the herb that motivates and stimulates creativity. - DJ Short
Amen DJ, this is exactly what I too am looking for!

Using a flash, dark background, side-lighting, reflectors or direct sunlight can also make things look a bit better.

I don't want to cause a ruckus either, which is why I chose to make my own example rather than point out sharpened images posted by others. I think it's something that we should try and in in the bud (no pun intended) before it becomes more common.

Deception in the digital age. If 'ya all focused when you take pics you wouldn't need the sharpen filter. It's really interesting though. The sharpen ads a sort of digital grain that we visually translate as resin. Probably was never intended to deceive but once someone saw the results how could they not post it. I agree BH, total deception, visually speaking. Peace...........RD

The sharpen filter is only of use when things are ever so slightly out of focus, and it does add a lot of grain to an image when used on the higher settings. I've also seen people add white Gaussian pattern noise to bud shots to give the impression of more resin, which is plain sad.
