Can i get myself a good cam that will do good macro shots for under $400?

u can probably get a 10-12mp for that ,manufacturer your prefernce ,theyre all bout same at that price range,,u need 1 with supermacro ,that gets u to within 10mm,fuji are a good reccomendation ,as is the sony with nikon and cannon being the best as far as i know

Fuji Finepic S5700, has a superb macro mode that gets as close as 10mm, only 72 squid online.

200 quid is putting u in the nearly bracket ,u nearly got enough for a decent camera ,below 200 u lookingt at basics but if u spend that little eextra you'll get so much more i.e

i do have a samsung .scd 353 .and did pay around 450.$ and i do not recommend it .the picture are fussy i cannot do close up ...and in 2 yrs that scd 353 went 2 time for repair .ok that was still under warrantee but i am telling you stay away from samsung scd 353 ..

Hi Logic,
i'm in the same boat as you - been badly needing a new camera for a while, stuck using a crappy Kodak digital camera, i'd absolute love to get a Digital SLR camera, lens, filters, the works but they're expensive, but if you have the money they're worth it tho, must be pure satisfaction knowing you have a camera that gets the job done
