Default Budbox Assembly Tip

Wow..I've just finished in well over an hour what should have taken no more than 20-30 mins tops. Tried to assemble a medium budbox and found that it just doesn't stretch, or is VERY tight.

If you're going to assemble on of these, a few shortcuts to save you the aggro that I had:

- get a mate to help. I can be done solo but for the stretching I reckon it would be twice as quick.

- take it out into the garden if you can....the sun warms the PVC/plastic and makes it a tad easier to deal with

- it takes quite a bit of effort to get it stretched right - sometimes it looks like it's impossible, or you'll rip it, but it will go....it's just a bit of a labour of love. Be careful, don't lose it and it happens. Gently gently then f**king hard, being careful not to rip it.

- give the ends of the frame a solid whack against the wall to make sure all the poles are seated fully in....millimeters matter....

Spoke to Global Hydro who say they have a new design out imminently with a new roof assembly, so it shouldn't be as much aggro. I'm told the really large budbox can be a real PITA so this might save a lot of hassle.

Chucking my seeds in a glass of water tonight.....and so it begins yarrrrrrrrr

Cheers

FF

How do you like your BudBox? Would you buy one again or go with something else?

i have a budbox xl and an xxl and i built the xl on my own and had untold stress.

got a friend to help with the xxl but that 1 was so much easier.

i would buy budbox again or failing that i would pick up 1 of those hydrogarden tents.

I recently got a deal on a small budbox - and it went together in 10 minutes, easily - totally unlike my medium budbox experience.

From pretty much every report I've read, the Dark Rooms kick Budbox's ass every single time. My flowering tent is going to be a DR120, if anything for the better reflective lining inside.

Yep...the street version is a cheaper version, apparently put together to counter the ebay copies. The full proper version comes highly recommended from loads of sources...it's a bit more pricey though.

or check out www.greenshorticulture.com for more info

Lets see, I have DR 60,80,100,120 and 240w running. With BudBox 1m x 1m x 2m (new one) and an old original 1m Budbox.

The best ones to build are the DR240. An absolute dream. The 120 aint to bad either.

Then theres the original budbox. I can do that with my eyes shut and an arm tied behind me back.

The worst to build is the DR100. Thing takes twice the time of the others. Its a real fucker. Every one of them I have built (dr100) is the same. I think the Darkrooms are the best, IMO.

I had a lot of probs with por production on the Budboxes a while ago. But Global Hydro have replaced all tents no questions asked. Probs mainly zip toggles braking, and the zipper mechanism. Also corners cracking.

Handy tips mate. I like the garden one.
