Default coco, drippers ,timers

any1 use drippers with there coco? my next grow im doing 4 plants in my budbox and fancy trying drippers with a run to waste set up i might scrog as well not to sure yet.
what im looking to find out if u have to feed 3 times a day or can you just feed the onece. becuase if u feed 3 times a day and have 30% run off like i do with hand watering it will be a big waste of nutes . so cud u just use them drip stakes when feed 2lt per hour and run them for 1h a day or 90mins aday when the plants need 3ltrs . what side pump would i need for 4 plants thanks

I'm in two minds as to whether to drip to waste, especially with the price of nutes. I'd be much happier dumping in Canna Boost if it was recirculated for a week, or even a few days - rather than just running out the bottom and then feeding the bushes in my garden...!

I'm thinking about something like this (from Progrow):

Meter Square Tray (100l, low profile)
Dutch dripper tray (1020x1060mm) - sits on top of the meter square tray nicely I think

Then there's plenty of room to move plants around, have different size pots, even raise a few up on other pots...and all take a feed from the res below.

I just don't like the idea of the 11l Wilmas - they're too close together and they pretty much force you to SCROG. I want better flexibility without having to lay out for an IWS setup.

This coco dripper thing has been driving me nuts for a couple of weeks now....need to get it sorted so that when my pregnant mrs pops in December, my plants don't suffer like they did with the broken ankle....

Canna boost is the most expensive booster (I dont use it) and imo doest do antthing better than the way cheaper booster from house and garden Bud XL and top booster in combination with canna ab or canna veg and flower

Right then- just in from B&Q.... bought a few bits and pieces to build a low cost dripper system. Just at the computer to skin one up, then going outside to work it out. Will take photos and post them later on. Gotta love DIY B&Q Hydroponics SUBVERT GARDEN TECHNOLOGY RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWR

Got it sorted, after a bit of fucking about with the hot glue

The only thing I couldn't find at B&Q was a double ended female adapter for a 16mm fitting - so I hot glued two bits together (see photos). Everything else is stock B&Q.

I'm converting the EF120 f&d to drip. With 6.5l pots in it there's more room to move around....and I think it will take 4 x 11l, with still more movement options than a wilma. It needs a good hosing out, so ignore the filth

It works really well when I tested it (using a 5 quid argos timer) with only the end dripper on one drip line (2l/hr). Got to wash the EF120 out tomorrow and plug in all 6 lines, but it's going to rule for 4 plants. Cheapness if you've already got a tray and/or tank.

The only non stock B&Q bit is the double ended female adapter (fnarr fnarr) that I made from two other hose screw bits (see photos) by gluing them back to back.

It's all straightforward - just don't forget the glue gun and those two screw bits...drove me a bit nuts to work it out in the end...if they only sold them life would be a shitload easier (I think they want you to buy the proper splitter head, from tap to manifold - but fuck that).

I've got an MJ500 on there atm, but if it's not enough I'll put an MJ1000 on it.

Hope this helps...will let you know how I get on...just waiting for a lone lowryder to finish and then will set it up and load it up....

EDIT: what a stoner...forgot the photos...DOH.... Have shown how the other drip heads might attach but I'm just going to go with one hose with one dripper on the end.

So is this gonne be a drip to waste system? If so where does the runoff go? I really like this design and i want to build something similar.

The way I've done it is recirculating - want to try that first and see how it goes, but if you wanted to drip to waste you just have to run a hose from the drainage hole into a separate tank/drain, instead of back into the res below.
