Default Custom Closet Questions

I want to make an enclosure that fits inside my closet. It should have enough room for 3 plants ,co2 and intake and exhaust.Going organic. Dimensions are roughly 4 1/2 ft wide,3 1/2 deep by 7 ft tall. Is that enough room? What materials should I use for construction.Am I going to save any money by doing this myself? Are there any diagrams showing how the intake and exhaust are placed? Do you think the fans will be quiet enough for anyone to notice them. All help mucho appreciated.

Default getting started

hey man, the first thing u wanna do is cover the window with a wall made out of plaster board sheet rock or plywood. make sure there is a space/gap between the wall and the window of no less then 8 inches/ 20cm. If u don't have a window i still advise u to build a fake wall, the reason is air is the best insulator. This wall has a dual function; it regulates the temp. in ur closet, and keeps heat finding equipment (from the man) at bay. And for that matter i also advise u to build a fake ceiling, depending on what floor ur opp. is on (basement vs attic). Once again; air is the best insulation. Moisture is the best heat conductor, so make sure that ur extractor doesn't blow out directly. (if in an urban situation) Not only for the heat but also the sound. I try, if the space is there, to make a cool down compartment. This could be a spare room or another fake wall or a fake lowered ceiling. If u are making a larger opp. then i would advise u to get a second extractor in the "cool down room" to make sure the air and heat keep moving from there. Another rule of thumb for extractors: over capacitate ur self. Let me explain; when a car is driving 30mph/50kph its not on full speed, and the engine isn't going full force. compared to a scooter doing the same speed the car is making a lot less noise! So buy a volt dimmer, but check to make sure the dimmer has sufficient amperage incorelation to the extractor! (otherwise it will blow up) Let me know if u have anymore questionsClick the image to open in full size.

Default forgot something

How big should my extractor be?
add the watt of ur lights (3x600watts=1800)
then divide that amount by 2 and thats ur extractor. (1800:2=900)
so in this example it means that u need a 1000 extractor, but get the next size up a 1500 with a dimmer and use it at 75%

7 feet with equiptment is cutting it short so ull have to "work" ur plants or u could hang ur extractor uotside the room but this might be noisier. caulking evry crack also helps isulate
Good luck!
