ok so I bought this used 1000 watt mh and when she gets warmed up she humms, and fairly loud too, well over the past three weeks she has burned out two bulbs, both used bulbs but not for that long maybe 2 months on the bulbs. Should I shit can this thing?

I am assuming they are magnetic core on coil style ballast(old school) because of the hum.

Your capicitor or ignitor may be bad or loose possible. They use the cheapest components they can find to build those ballast up and sometimes a finished unit makes it passed Chinese quality control,,hehe, it happens...

If it is a digi ballast then it could be a couple of things

also my window ac unit froze up, literally, I looked at the filter in the radiator is literally a block of ice now. WTF my world is coming apart!!!
