what are you using for oxygen/co2 balance?

I run a cap ppm3 co2 controller with a dual tank regulator works like a charm 1500 ppms and with the room so airtight co2 lasts a long time I only fill the tanks at week 6.

Why pull air in at 400 ppm when you can have 1500ppm all the time.
Why pull in the wrong temp air (diff temps year round)
Why pull in unwanted insects (havnt had insect prob in last 12 years)
Why exhaust stink

There is so many why's i could be here all day.

Be god in your own room, provide what you need in everyway, in most cases your providing more than god himself can

Lets talk about the downfalls and i only know one, the use of electricity.

must have's for sealed rooms

a/c (split unit if you live in a very cold climate 3000.00)
lights (more the better, remember your replicating the sun, DO NOT USE 600"S)
Fans (big ones)
cool tubes (minimum 8 inch)
Dehumidifiers for lights off (BIG ONES, 70 PINT PER 24 HRS)

tHESE ARE YOUR BASICS we still have all the hydro setup as well.

I gave up on a 12 ft x 12ft room intake/exhaust for a room 7ft x 7ft sealed enclosure. I yielded 3.5 pounds more from the small room as i did the big room.

any questions feel free to ask guys, i will answer any question !!
straight from the sealed room guru, i use intake and exhaust because its cheaper and quicker to set up, but if you can afford it sealed room is the way to go...

Default light

In an indoor garden, as stated above we are better than god himself which means we provide more light, more co2 and more nutrients. 600's are only good if your growing a 2 ft plant. Thats all a 600 will penetrate, i grow 4ft'rs so i need the the depth of light that the 1000"s give. When you are providing more light than god it means way more lights in a room than the heat could handle, thus cool tubes, these babies are the cats ass/dogs bollocks.... whatever. 8 inches of ice cold air running through the tubes cooling those bulbs to the point you can clutch the glass right at the bulb and it feels cool. You are going to read about people saying this and that about the light dispersal and other things but dont listen to any of it, your providing so much light it wouldnt matter anyway !!

What What, I apologize if i am stepping on your thread. I will try to keep my ?'s relevant to topic.

Doubled's,

1000's for penetration, agreed. Still waiting for them to work out the bug's on the 1000 digi's.

I have measured the light loss through CLEAN glass with a luxmeter and it is minimal, not sure about spectrum loss. I believe the benefit of removing intense heat from the canopy more than makes up for any light loss. Do you vent your cool tubes out of the sealed room or simply away from the canopy and yet remain in the sealed room?

Start own thread, thanks

Default vent

I vent my hoods outside, suck in ice cold air from outside and blow the heat from the hoods back outside also. Would be defeating the purpose if i didnt vent them.

Ask away my friend, we're trying to make this thread great and teach people the benifits.
The more questions that get asked the better !!

Was reasonably certain that is what you were doing. If your purpose is too get the heat away from the plants and out of the sealed room as cheaply as possible then your method is obviously the best. If not venting outside I would just use a fan blowing directly on the lights from below. Have you tried not venting the lights or do care to speculate on the additional load placed on the A/C by not venting?

If you vent into the sealed room, you will need much more cooling power. I don't have the luxory of really cold air outside., but overnight the temp is at least 10 degrees lower, and I can just keep my lights cool enough to let the canopy reach the tube. However, there is no room for heat creep like that!

I tried venting in the room, and the heat creep was phenomenal.

No way I have ever had the venting provide cooling to the point I could touch the actual lamps. but I can keep the temp of the tube below the point it will burn the leaves that touch!

Here are some pics of my sealed room not qiite done yet ran into some problems with the mini split. I am running 4 600s and 2x400s Im pulling outside air through one side and sucking it through the lights and venting the hot air outside. I could tell the room was sealed when I went in and the co2 monitor read 100 ppms right before the timer went on. I only have 3 600s plugged in right now but this week the rest should come together the plants are 1 week 12 12 so when its done well spead them out a bit 2 days ago it was 105 outside and my room was 71 and I could have made it 65 if I wanted. I cant believe how easy it is to control the temps and the co2 levels I dont know how I could ever go back. Ill post some more pics later this week when its done.Click the image to open in full size.
