That's impressive. Almost clinical.

I am planning on converting a container to a sealed room, and power it with solar/wind/hydro (depending where I locate it). I am wondering whether to start with a second hand reefer (refreidgerated container), as it will already have the air con system, but they are industrial systems and can be expensive.

Setups like yours are my inspiration!

Talk about lab coat your rooms are clean clean thats what Im shootin for we had to rush because we had 30 babies that were 14-15 inches tall we didnt want 4 foot trees with the 600s mabey when winter hits well put some 1000s in because with the cold outside air going through them Itll be easier to cool them.

thanks for your time doubleds!

would you recommend putting the ballasts in the attic/crawlspace here in southern calif? I was concerned that the summer heat would cause ballast failure or even worst, a fire.

the first and only sealed room i built i put the ballasts directly outside of the room rather than the crawl space.

also, i didnt use cooltubes because i didnt have space for a lung room.

I read your medical room thread and i was confused as to where you pulled air to the cooltube from, and where you exhausted that air to.

i appreciate your response bro!

I put my ballasts right in my attic and yes it gets hot but there's nothing to catch fire in a ballast. I had a faulty one and it smoked like hell, smelled like crack but never caught fire. Wiring insulation is the only thing that can burn and it is fire retardent. In north america anyway. I pull the air from my attic through the cool tubes and out a vent on the side of my attic. In flowering my lights run only at night so it pulls in the cool air from outside and cools the ballasts at the same time in summer, in winter the ballasts running for 2 hours are still cold to the touch. We are extreme here bro, from 97 degrees in summer to - 17 in winter....... lol, sure your ok in cali

doubleds,

thanks for the prompt response!

i've also had a couple of faulty ballasts and they did the exact same thing as you described. freaked the hell out of me lol.. i guess that's not something to worry about.

gonna put ballasts up in the attic from now on.

thanks for clearing up the cool tube issue for me too. I thought sealed meant nothing going in our out. so the air is just passing through the room via the tubes, keeping the room itself sealed.

thanks for the insight bro, cleared up a lot of things for me.

-peace
