Quick question...what is that green material that you're using to cover the plants? Are you able to see out of it and is it hard to see in it? The reason I'm asking is because I want to grow on my balcony but I'd like to be able to put something up that will not block the sun, but will not allow...

I'm a total newbie but have looked into this a little and the companion plants I've seen recommended a lot are garlic, sage, cilantro and peppers.
