Overheating Rootzone

Hi all was wondering if any outdoor growers know how to prevent the rootzone from overheating in the hot tropical sun. Growing in containers using a peat /perlite mix . Any pointers will be helpful.

Panda film or mylard covers is the best thing. Misting constantly can really help too.

hah i should have some mylar laying around thanks good idea.

I used Mylar on the fences one year and burned some plants. I use the tan colored smart pots(100 gallon) and have a friend that wrapped Tyvec (sp) house wrap around his pots.
