ibe looked on these guys website and I'm digging the price and all but not a lot of info on their site.. is there. certain ceiling height that these need to go in? will they work in a tent? is heat the only issue? cause I could beat the heat or would it bleach plants? also what's the coverage on these? and I'm new to this whole cmh scene and unsure as to their bulbs 3kr 4k and 10k. I'm assuming 10k is for veg solely and the others are full spectrum? correct me if I'm wrong?

any info is appreciated.

k so i was looking at the nanolux system, which doesn't come with bulbs for like 250ish? plus a Phillips bulbs which is another 80 dollars times two would be an additional 160. well my brother got me some ipower cmh 315w bulbs. i guess ipower makes their own 630 watt fixture.. anyways can i use these bulbs in the nanolux? I question it because it says CDM bulb? what is that?

Yes
but we warned. Substandard no name brand bulbs should be used with caution. One grower had a bulb failure and it set their floor on fire.

Philips bulbs are a little pricey for a reason. Lots of $ goes into r&d. And their worth every penny.

was it user error? how did it happen? could have been avoided?

Bulb failure
The bulb exploded, sending hot bits of metal bulb fragments on floor setting it on fire. Luckily he was in the room doing work when it happened.

Never seen a bulb specifically made for vert or horiz mounts. They make a t9 and t12 bulb, Philips. One is for open enclosures, one for sealed hoods

Anyone know how old these are? You'de think someone would have tried one out! I like the gavita/commercial style assembly. You can get this for 330 or the nanolux for 320 on the zon. Both with their manufacturer's own bulbs...

I run 7x 315 cmh. But all are in ac hoods. If you already have ac hoods, buy the adapter, bulb, and ballast and RUN IT! Nothing but killer yields. 1260w cmh hands down beats my old 1800w hps runs any day.

I'm running the gc in the same room as my ss 315s with the Phillips bulb and I can say without a doubt I regret not buying another ss. I can see a difference in everything from the size, color, and definitely trich production. I am running gc's 3k bulb and a noticeable difference between the two when you put your hand under the bulbs, the gc giving off an almost green hue and the Phillips giving off definite red.
I don't have the fancy light meters but just one grow has me convinced not to run that bulb. Next run I'm putting a Phillips in the gc fixture to see if the deficiency is the bulb or the horizontal placement of the bulb.
Always searching!

you've ran both units side by side? which do you prefer? the difference you see is in favor of the gc unit?
Yes both side by side and I do not think the gc bulb is 1/2 as good as the Phillips but like I said I need to run the Phillips bulb in the gc ballast to see if the bulb being ran in the vertical position makes any difference as well

nice report back and let me know. hoping to buy the gc as it is much cheaper but i could fork out the extra for some phillips bulbs if it isn't the orientation.
