Here we go guys, gonna do a single Budzilla plant and make it my little test dummy. Will play around with some techniques and generally just keep myself content until I can do a real grow. In a Black orchid cloning tent with a Mars '600w' LED. Let's see what happens...something will that's for sure...

Never ceases to amaze me how fast these beautiful plants want to grow. When I put the cup in the tent last night it was bent over 45 degrees with white cotyledons, checked this morning six hours later, pointing straight up, lovely green colour in the leaves, and got a first set of true leaves about 3mm long! Cool...

Have fun keeping her short. You thinking LST, or scrogging, or just letting it become a small bush?

Gonna top her of course, probably gonna rely on training yeah. Has quite good success in a small setup like this before. Main problem was I didn't remove enough lower growth so half the plant was popcorn. This is supposed to be quite a stretchy strain so it will be fun to see what happens :)

I had this problem with my current grow in my signature. Well, almost. Removed quite a bit about a week after moving to flower but was a bit conservative because I had no idea how much their random genetics would stretch.

Wasn't a bad thing because quite a few more tops made it to the canopy while I kept it roughly the same height with supercropping. Still wound up taking a ton more lower crap off just last light cycle at 28 days in. At least that's the last of that. I just wish I would have got it done a week sooner. They don't seem to be noticing too much though.

The best way to get no popcorn is with scrogging, just saying. At least scrogging has always seemed easier than tying down a whole bunch of different branches in 2-3 different places and having to adjust them all every few days during the stretch.

Yeah tying down has its issues, I would like to give scrogging a go with a larger area. I accidentally supercropped my grapefruit diesel plant last run, was impressed with what happened. I panicked of course because I had never done SC before and had just snapped a branch for all I knew at the time. It ended up being one of the most productive branches at harvest time. It's early days, before in my first grows, I didn't really bother with anything beyond topping and removing a bit of lower growth, just stuffed as many plants as I could in the tent. That of course means more work/plants to deal with. Like I say, until I move to a new place and have room for my large tent, I'll fuck around with one to try all this out

So my plants stretched horribly before ever going into flower and got really lanky due to neglect. Going on 40"+ now 28 days into flower after starting at roughly 24-26". If I hadn't supercropped the bunch of them I'm estimating they'd be at least 55-60".

It also expanded the canopy in the first week or two of flower by over twice what it originally was. However the stretch is slowing down quite a bit. Still going but slowing. Good old sativas. Still stretching at 28 days.

My grow is a fine example of what not to do in the early stages. I just wasn't on this site to document it before week 3 of flower so the best I can tell you is to check it out and see what supercropping done to even the worst over stretched plants can do. By the time my plants are ripening up yours will be ready to really start manipulating so if I mess everything up you have plenty of time not to take my advice.

But by all means don't let me tell you what to do. Find what fits your needs and works best for you and then strive to improve upon it.

Don't know if you're interested, but I'd like to invite you along for the ride @keiksweat @jipp @EventHorizan @DemonTrich @sixstring @Wisher619 @tinderthumbs @G gnome @mancdank always had solid input from you guys and appreciate it now more than ever since this will probably be my final micro grow before I go big. Of course, it'll be a different game once I start using my HPS light in the big tent but still... Let's grow!

Were you asking that because LED is supposed to make them stretch more? So I heard anyway...

I'm asking because at 3 feet most LED's will stretch quite a bit. My last grow I kept the very short @ 18". That being said, you're using a different light. LED's don't necessarily stretch plants more or anything. Especially if your light has a specific veg mode.

That being said, if it's a sativa it's going to be a taller plant in general. I grew a 90% Indica.
