Did you look up the bin numbers to see exactly what they mean? Usually Cree only lets their seconds etc. out to the secondary markets. If these are first quality 35G CD DB it seems like a good deal depending on the driver they are supplying. I don't see a "DB" on the spec sheet with all the others but it is mentioned later in the spec regarding raw lumens out. Don't know for sure what the CRI is on that particular bin. The CD's are about 12-13,000 lumens and the DB's are 11-12,000 lumens.

Myself, I would choose the Vero29 kits from Rapidled.com or the Luminous COBs from cobkits.com over these just because I would question what your getting from a China Ebay seller at this price. If they really are those bin numbers they are pretty nice but like I say I don't trust overseas Ebay sellers much.

For my own grow I prefer the Luminous CXM22 50V 130 watt max COBs. Attached are the Cree specs in case you don't have them handy.

The cxm 22 are cree - why is everyone so pshyched over cree i mean the like you said even the vero seem to have a nicer spectrum I have something in my head thT itchs and it says a little extra blue is good where sorta like the 4000 k on the quantum am i way off or ..... it just seems you would get more intensity ( you already gave me a ton of stuff to think about concerning intensity and penetration. Shame they done make a quantum thats sorts dome shaped to give more refraction and maybe sneak past the big fan leaves. I will lookbup rhe ones you mentioned thanks man your a good dude.

Thanks for the kind words. I had no idea the Luminous chips were Cree....Are they really made by Cree under a different brand name.

All I did was compare the Luminous data sheet to Cree and others and I found it to be the best performance for the buck. At $19 a piece they are high output which means they are 130 watts each so you can run them very efficiently at 65W at have much more light when needed and can be dimmed down when needed. I also like the 72 volt Cree's but the cost is over 2X the Luminous.

Anyway, I am getting great results so far as compared to a 1K HPS. I am seeing a main stalk on my plants that is 1.5 x as thick as last time and branches that are heavier as well as huge root development. I did one flower cycle with these lights and found about a 25% increase (weight). Now I have better sorted out my genetics and so this time I expect even more. The root bundles after 5 week veg over-filled the 5 gallon buckets and gave me tap rots that are the diameter of an adult males index finger. They just look super vigorous.

Also, I have read a some stuff written by people with more experience than me that say the whole bag appeal of tight, heavy, dense buds is not necessarily better than airy buds. Their argument is the airy buds sometimes have more internal trich development but I don't know. An interesting subject. I have grown some airy buds that were small but tasted great and really hit hard on my pain and insomnia. I got criticized for producing larfy loosely trimmed buds but they were great. They had so much trich material on the bud leaves I trimmed them a little less than normal. Sometimes I think bag appeal doesn't necessarily equal quality.

Here is an example of that opinion:

My crop gets mostly made into oil. The person that does it for me (trusted friend) does dry ice 90 and 120 micron mechanical extraction. Then it is mixed with coconut oil and an emulsifier to make capsules. I am into the edibles except at night when I really need to sleep. I don't like to smoke but when I need the effect right away it works and I do like the taste of some nice home grown.

The only flower cycle I have under these LEDs resulted in some success. I am only 3 years into the growing of cannabis so I have a lot to learn but I am now a big fan of LED as well as Undercurrent Hydro.

Sorry for the blurry pics....
Nearly a 2 ounce nug, if I could only do this consistently! :)
