want to passively distill and dry isobutane with my pressurized closed column using zeolite and a recovery tank. What is the easiest way to achieve this. I don’t scattered bits of info using closed loop. I know I can hook up a recovery tank with braided pyre hose and just blast through zeolite into the reclaim tank and pump it into the storage tank correct?

Thanks a lot

I wouldn’t use the “zeolite” but you could fill the column up with solvent and distill that into your recovery tank and then do it again until you’ve distilled all your solvent. Make sure you don’t fill past 80% and leave room for expansion. I wouldn’t recommend doing it in a column tho

I'm not the guru you are looking for just another guy who is taking a logical assessment of the scenario as you did. I don't see what's different between a closed column and a recovery tank for your purpose. It seems like you would just follow standard passive recovery protocol.

Fill the column with butane, put the column in hot water bath, recovery tank in ice, open valves, wait for recovery. active recovery seems like super overkill assuming most closed column are not that big and the active recovery hardware needed would cost as much as buying a closed loop system probably bigger than your closed column.
