Using Humboldt County’s Crystal Burst
0-15-15 NPK for flowering. Should I be using more than this to provide nutrition for my flowering plants. Also with outher nutes I have been using General Hydroponics pH Down to bring pH to about 5.5-6.4 pH, should I do that with the above nute as well?

Dear Bob,
Hell yes you should.
Example: In my hydro ebb and flow I use flora nova bloom, diamond nectar, si armor, floranectar, florilicious plus, and liquid Koolbloom. Also Mammoth P for bacteria.
All nutrient lines have different additive to help the plant do different things. Your nutrient has no nitrogen, plants need less in flower, but they still need some. You still need adequate levels of calcium and magnesium, and so on.
If only one bottle of nutes was all you need, we’d all be flocking to it.
For example only, go on line and look at floranova bloom feed schedule. Or botanicare, or whatever line you like. It will give a program of nutrients and additives to use together to give balanced nutrition.
Your children can live on just hot dogs, doesn’t mean that’s all you should feed them.
You don’t need to break the bank, but don’t go cheap either. No thing as a free lunch.
And just for comparison, my grows in hydro taste better than most people’s soil plants. Sure as hell beats them for yield.
Do your homework, work the process, and learn to grow nice healthy girls.
Relax and enjoy the work.
Good luck.

Thanks RR for your help really appreciate it. Was using Canna A and B during veg. Thinking of Canna B and the Humobldt nutes together for flower. Humbolt nutes seem to start at about 8 pH need to put in about 8 ml of pH down to bring it close to 6.2 pH. I am very new so is that pretty typical?

Hey Bob,
With what i’m doing I need 5mls/gal or so to adjust to 5.9.
But it varies with different people’s water. I am lucky that I have good well water here with low calcium and iron.

While I use Promix BX, Chem Gro fert, water by hand, and is a bit different vs active Hydro. It is passive hydro.

I use a 4-20-39
15.5 0 0
Magnesium Sulfate/Epsom Salts
Momopotassium phosphate… Flowering only 0-52-34

Its a myth... going by tissue analysis that weed needs LESS Nitrogen in Flower. To the contrary, it needs more, all the way up to the end. If you don't over feed plants, theres no need for flushing, and Nitrogen is Not contained in the Flower, but IS contained in the leaves, and small cover leaves.
What is Nitrogen..

Humans eat Protein, and the body TURNS IT INTO NITROGEN.

All humans, and especially strength Athletes want to stay in Positive Nitrogen Balance, if you don't, you go Catabolic, and use yourself for energy. You want to stay Anabolic.. IE to Build Up.
Bud will be small if nitrogen restricted. Now you don't want to much, or it WILL delay flowering, but it IS needed in the proper amounts.

Catabolic = Tear Down.

But its like building muscles. You need Protein/Nitrogen

In some varieties, extra Magnesium Sulfate and Iron chelate (FE138) may be beneficial

Weed also like 2x amount of Potassium vs Nitrogen.

Thanks RR. I have been using the pH adjustment as well and been assuming it does not interfere with the nutes viability. What do you think of the Canna B nute as add on to the Humboldt nutes for flower?

Don’t know. Haven’t used either. My soils use cheap homemade nutes,(blood meal, bone meal, worm castings, plant-tone, etc) with soils prepared over 6 months. My ebb and flow I use floranova line, with a few add ons like mammoth p.
Most lines can be used together, start easy, keep good notes.
Growing is one part science, two parts art, and zero parts magic.
Have fun,

Try watering with aerated water couple days, or old chemist trick 3 tbsp hydrogen peroxide/gal. The 3% from your bathroom, NOT the 35% I use to disinfect and clean with.
Quickly raises oxygen in solution.
See if it helps. If your soil isn’t porous enough it can get stagnant.
Way to keep an eye on details.

I try to keep away from the stabilized peroxide..the stab they use is carcinogenic...no good mate!!! I used to make my own 3% with the 35%. That i don't have and no micro beasties to re-innoculate with...i got it at 72 to 75 with lights on...i think its the city water i used....not going to any more...got ro now....new filter came today...im thinking it will help!! I will get a few clones from each plant. Then flower... thanks for the info

I also prefer to dilute my own, but like to be careful till I know people know the difference, how to make solutions, etc.
Used to work with 80% peroxide, but you can cause fires and shit with that.
Black friend of mine got some on his skin, turned it white like paper.
