Growing In Coco, How Much Water Do You Give Plants

i was told to charge the coco in plastic cups first with a tablespoon of water solution, but when they develop the roots and i transfer them to my pots, how much(cc's) water solution are u supposed to give every plant bc i know it increases over time right

Water them as needed. Let them dry out between each watering but not to the point that it wilts. However if it does wilt, don’t panick. Just water them and in a couple hours it’ll spring right back up.

Don’t overthink it. It’s a hearty flower plant (didn’t say weed) and it’ll do it’s best to take care of itself.

Im gonna say...nope. u can ask 10 coco growers and 9 of em r gonna rell u thats wrong. U being the 10th....haha

Water till u get about 10%-20% runoff.

Water them as needed. Let them dry out between each watering but not to the point that it wilts. However if it does wilt, don’t panick. Just water them and in a couple hours it’ll spring right back up.

Don’t overthink it. It’s a hearty flower plant (didn’t say weed) and it’ll do it’s best to take care of itself.

My bad I wasn’t paying close attention. I have never done just coco. I always mix it into my soil mix. My apologies.

It is indeed a very basic question. One that has been answered on here time and time again. A question that if the op wudda typed into the search bar wudda been answered but instead he wants his info spoon fed to em.

Yes it does increase over time.
Give em just enough water for run off.
Have you figured out your ph levels yet?

You might also think about setting up a drip system.

One of the benefits that newer gardeners enjoy about coco, is that it doesn't really matter how much water you give it, as long as it's enough to keep the coco from drying out before you water again.

You can underfeed a plant in coco, but you're not going to "over-water" it.

before i put anything in i fully saturate my container of coco the day before i plant,after that i feed to runoff everyday.the amount will vary a lil bit between containers,youll get the hang of it after a few weeks.if you dont have a shopvac get one it helps to get rid of the runoff in the catch trays dont leave it in there,if you have outdoor garden or plants you can give them some of the excess

i was told to charge my coco with a 3 Gallon bucket mixed with a Coco Perlite ratio of 70/30. then, i transfer the coco into my plastic cups. from then on, i was told to mix 1/8th of my nute dosage with full strength CalMag into a Gallon of PH regulated water.

i was told each plant requires a simple tablespoon of this solution at first. i'm just unsure of how it changes after, but i understand it's a priority to keep the coco moist and ive heard 20% runoff is the goal here as already stated..

im just confused on how the water feeding cycle goes from then on, especially when i transfer the plants to my pots

You’re over thinking this buddy. Don’t worry about precisely what your watering schedule should be, like there’s one-right answer and we are all keeping it a secret.

Water once a day, with just enough to get a little runoff. One day, you’ll go to water, and notice the top is drying out. This is when you increase to twice a day.

And nobody here can really help you with “tablespoons” of “1/8 strength”... get yourself a meter, talk to us in EC so you and all of us know what a tablespoon of this stuff actually equates to.

I think this is where your confusion is coming from. Whoever told you a tablespoon... yeah, so you’re wondering how much water that tablespoon of solution should be added to? Well you could mix it with another tablespoon, and have some pretty strong shit...

That’s just not the way to do it. But look man, you don’t really need to think about it all that much. It’s a tough plant. Just don’t let the coco dry out, and make sure there’s some fertilizer in your water every time. If the plants look troubled, give us some pics of the trouble and plenty of folks here can guide you through the resolution.

Good Morning all I didnt want to make a new thread so I thought I would just ask in here. I am running with Botanicare Aeration mix with coco my problem at this point is having to water every day I was thinking of mixing soil with coco to possibly retain a lil more water anyone have any ideas on this?
