I stumbled across a guy with some equipment for sale, new at about 25% of cost, and I happen to have a 60 X 120 empty shop. I'm looking for the best way to utilize the space and equipment and produce the highest yield. Budget is not an issue, and already have the following equipment/ Rooms set up.

2 Rooms 60' x 40'
4 rooms 20 x 15'
1 room 20 x 20'

Equipment.
10 Autopilot CO2 regulators
10 - 8 Light 8,000 WATT 60 AMP AUTOPILOT LIGHT CONTROLLERS
5 Autopilot Light Master Timers
10 - CO2 Monitors with output for regulators
640 - 5 Gallon Buckets
4 Pallets of Rockwool Pebble grow medium
10 Stainless Steel Racks with 4 shelves (T5 on each shelve)
160 Clone Trays with hygrometer and vented domes, each with a heat mat
20 - 6" exhaust fans for lights
50 X Carbon filters (6" also i believe)
80 X 1000 Watt MH/HPS dimmable lights
40 - 4x8 Flood Trays
40 - 115 Gallon Reservoirs
40 - Air Pumps
40 - Flood pumps
30 - 18" oscillating fans
6 Large Humidifiers
250 Air Stones

my question, utilizing the above equipment, in what growing methods can I achieve the largest yields annually? Anyone out there that designs grow facilities for people?

I work with a company that specializes in vertical horticulture racks and mobile systems. We can lay out your grow facility for no extra charge if you are interested in our commercial line of grow racks and/or mobility systems. Our mobility systems can also be retrofitted to existing rack units to triple your grow canopy in the same amount of space. Just visit my website and scroll down to the “bigger?” section and send us your dimensions. I will send you some more information if needed and get you started in no time. Let me know if you’re interested.

Here’s a few examples of what you can expect. The first pic is of a floor plan layout. The second pic is the mobile racking systems we sell, install and service. It’s really cool stuff. I don’t have a ton of info on the site yet but I’ll update it here shortly. I can get you the info in the meantime though if you reach out.

We also have provisions for drainage, lighting, irrigation, etc that all works well together.

How much space do i need vertically to be able to have a double stacked setup (ideally) for a commercial growing operation ?

Depends on how much height you need for vertical growth and space for your lights. So let’s say the finishing height of your plants is 4’ tall. This is just an example. You’ll want 2’ for your lights and space between the lights and your plants tops. In this case you’d want about 14’ to be safe. Of course we can work with you to plant this out to fit your needs and it can be taller or shorter than that based on your specific needs.

But the best part about the mobility system is you can increase the horizontal footprint by having mobile racks. You can use the wheel to move the racks (with one hand) on a track and stack them on one side of the room and bring them out one at a time when you need to work on them. Many companies use this system in their warehouses and it’s been adapted for commercial growing for the same purpose. You will already find them at the Apple stores, Napa, Autozone, OReillys, etc. Now this same system is available to growers to maximize their grow space.

I’ll be adding more info to the site probably later today to showcase the different systems we offer. And again layout services are free and there is no middleman so pricing is as competitive as can be. We will also meet or beat anyone else’s pricing if you already have gotten a quote from someone else.

We’ve been in the commercial racking business for over 40 years and have contracts with many large companies. We’ve expanded to the commercial marijuana grow market and are doing installations daily.

We can get existing racks retrofitted with the mobility system in under 3 weeks and we can setup an entirely new grow in just 5-6 weeks. We install and service everything we offer as well.

Btw this same company I work with is who manufactures my commercial racks for consumer growing. I’ve taken their rack and adapted it for home use.

That’s why I laugh anytime someone says they can make something similar cheaper. The racks alone cost over $400 and hold up to 11,000 lbs.

It’s a perfect unit to use while growing your business from home growing to commercial grow op. The Growing Rack can also be retrofitted with the same mobility system or caster wheels which we are currently giving away for free with every deluxe and bundle models. The Growing Rack fills the gap between tents and commercial racks perfectly and allows for expansion without replacing the entire unit.

This is why I created The Growing Rack and why I think it fills a need in the market. It’s just a matter of time before more people realize just what it is and how great it functions. And we sell them any way the customer needs them. If you don’t want the cover and melamine shelf boards that’s fine and will save you lots of money. But they are available if you need them and can be purchased separately if you need them down the road.

It’s really the only expandable, configurable and mobile grow system available today. I just hope others check it out and give it a chance. I was skeptical as well in the beginning and then realized the potential of it. It’s just the beginning and there’s lots more cool stuff to come for consumers and commercial growers.

If he had that setup in Ebb and Flo, and that's what you plan on, your nute bill will be out of this fucking world. You are talking something like 4200 gals a week and you will end up throwing half of that away. Not to mention PH control with airstones in the res.

The nute bill will be peanuts compared to the payout!
I'd set them up drip feed drain to waste.
I've run ten tables flood and drain in rockwool which you have to flush from the top. It's a nightmare.
Drip/top feed with runoff and save the ball ache.
Airstones in the res haven't caused me any trouble with ph before.. IMO

Haha so you know first hand. Ebb & Flo is great for veg when you have different # of plants from time to time but flower ...just no. Same with rockwool. Nightmare for sure.

Nutrient bill isnt any larger for a larger setup ..per plant. Everything is just more, including the payout. I am interested in your racks etc. Cant see it in detail on my phone whats your website again? Thx

Nutrient bills are the #1 concern for large commercial setups along with power and rent since its a recurring cost. I'm talking 100+ lights. 20 lights is just a big home grow. As you scale up so does your waste unless you like throwing money down the drain. Why you see hand watering/drip/dosers most of the time in large setups. Min waste. You ever see 200 lighters run something like H&G or Canna for years on end without switching? Nope. I'm not arguing about anything here just flood and drain is something you don't do on a large scale with like 4 x 8 tables for flower. Doesn't mean you cant but there is also a lot of people that fail at this every year and sell their equipment off. And as the op poster said he isn't going to flood them and has done this dance before. I was commenting on the fact how he listed it seems like the guy with the equipment was flooding them.

Some areas now are requiring you eliminate or treat/filter your run off too.... Ebb n flow ain’t bad for watering a shit ton of freshly planted cuts or a really short veg. Gotta have something to anchor them too or they float lol. I knew a 300+ that was using all AN haha. AN loved them had the sales rep out constantly trying to upsell them haha

The trays are more for seaof green or vertically challenged setups or setups who want to maximize the space w 2.floors w 2 levels on each.
So you're saying that a 100 1000 watt type set up that ebb n flow w a bucket system is not going to work? Ive done 20 1000 watts w that set up why csnt i jst exapnd it times 5? Im setting up some huge facilities and looking at diff ways to go. I see alot of guys top feeding, drip feeding into trays, etc. Lotta ways to go with the layout of thr faility dictating alot of it too
