6 or 12 plants under 1000w HPS?

i been growing 12 plants under 1000hps super hortilux bulb, and ive only been getting an ounce and a half of a plant 2 one some. but do u think ill be better off growing 6 under 1 1000w? lmk because i need to figure this shit out. thanks people

6 plants would be better, you should pull 1 1/2 L's minimum.

I put 16 plants under a 1000w. 1 plant per sqr/ft 4x4. my blue dream averaged 2 zips per plant with a 3 week veg. 2g pots with coco and gen hydro 3 part nutes. Drain to waste. Phillips bulb , budget gro ballast, yieldmaster hood. No ac, no co2, no crazy additives, using tap water. Nothing fancy. Waterd by hand.

It completely depends on a ton of factors.

Typically though you SHOULD get a gram per watt off 1000W relatively easily. That could be with one plant or a hundred. Obviously one plant would have to veg for a lot longer than 100 would but yeah...

ok, the only reason i have 12 under each light is because im caregiving for someone. im just going to tell them i cant do it, and run 6 under each light. i think it will equal out the same damn near.

id go with 9 or 6 under a 1k. depending on the strain and veg time. 1 month veg from roots 9 plants over 6 weeks from roots then 6 plants. if u use 9 plants 3 gal pots if u use 6 then 5 gal pots.

I have 9 in 5 gal pots and am way too crowded, so I think Kid Twist is right on.

9 plants then harvest the tops and let the bottom finish out. works ok for me

Next round I plan on 9 smaller girls with better canopy control than this first run or 6 with these 5 gals pots and mini screens on each. Having to remove some girls to water the back of the tent sucks.

um i dont know i think id do 4 then. cuz to be able to fill 15 gallon pots ur talking big ass plants. maybe push it to 7 gals. Its all about roots for me. My theary is the more i have to water them the more food they get. so if i feed a plant 1-2 x's a week say 1000 ppms thats 1000-2000 ppms a week. but if I need to water a plant 4-5 x's a week thats 4-5k ppms a week. long time no see as well bro hope all is good

the fact that i am feeding them 4-5xs a week 1000 ppms each feed and they are drinking it tells me differnt. i feed to very little run off. So if they were not eating it, i would end up with a very salty medium... or no? So to me this tells me they are eating 4-5k ppms a week. it may not add up like that, but my yeild has increased greatly.

Ppms work like a percentage. You figure it out dude. It comes out to the same thing. Think about the water being used. I feed 8 plants in 2g pots with 1 gallon of 1000ppm water once a day. Thats the same as you watering 2 8g pots with 7 gallons of 1000ppm water once a week. Its all math dude.

do they have 10 gal pots then? im about roots too. i need my grow to righ, whether its growing 24 again or cut my patient out and grow 12 plants. im grabbing clones this weekend so i need to come to a closure soon. i need to yield atleast 3-4 oz a plant.

my point was for the same size pots not differnt sizes. if ur roots dont fill the pot the plant will stay wet longer thus taking in less food.
