I don't understand your reference to promalin? Promalin is a foliar spray made by valent bioscience

Promalin has two ingredients. The first is a mixture of two natural gibberellins commonly found
in plants: Gibberellins 4 and Gibberellins 7. The second is a compound also found in nature
classified as a cytokinin, 6-Benzyladenine

Silica Mineral Supplement is a solution of silicic acid, Si(OH)4 in water - the concentration of which is approximately 2.5% by weight (measured as silica, SiO2). Silicic acid is absorbed in the human gastrointestinal (GI) tract and transported throughout the body where it is used in the production and maintenance of collagen and connective tissue. Animal studies have demonstrated that silica is an essential trace element and that a deficiency of silica in the diet can produce dramatic bone and cartilage abnormalities.
Silicic acid is stable in solution at very low concentrations, but will combine to form oligomers at higher concentrations (above - 100ppm) as show in the following chemical equation:
silica_chem_equa.gif

Note that there is an equilibrium condition between silicic acid and oligomers which means that as silicic acid is removed (i.e. absorbed by the GI tract), the remaining oligomers break down to form additional silicic acid. In this way, Silica Mineral Supplement will provide as much silicic acid as the body demands. The particle size of the oligomers is less than 10 nanometers which allows them to be readily dispersed in solution. Silica has a faint bluish haze, owing to the tendency of these small particles to form larger agglomerates, which can nonetheless be easily broken down to silicic acid. The bluish haze is created because of the tendency of silica oligomers to reflect the blue portion of the visible light spectrum, similar to air or water molecules. During the production of Silica the pH is adjusted to be very close to neutral and typically lies in the range of pH=7-8 (the typical pH of tap water, eggs or crackers). Silicic acid is completely non-toxic.

found a company and its local
I bought a small bottle of faciclitator just to see if it works. it looks yellow butt the dry stuff and side of the bottle turns blue.

this company says silica has a faint bluish haze, owing to the tendency of these small particles to form larger agglomerates, which can nonetheless be easily broken down to silicic acid.

Was reading about there "Flagship" product which is the Facilitator product. One thing to remember is that if you have strong biology in your media, you do not need this expensive formula to achieve the same goals. You can use regular silica products that are much cheaper. It is just that the silica has to be converted by the micro-biology in the soil first to Silicic Acid which is the ONLY form the plants can use and uptake. And if you do not have a strong biology active in your media then you will not be able to take advantage of what a silica product can do.

There are also MANY products on the market like "HydroRush" for example that help boost biology and also nutrient uptake. Although if your not careful all the additives you get can easily add up to be more or the same cost as a bottle of facilitator.

I guess you could say there is more than one way to skin a cat. I try and find the least expensive ways to get that cat skinned.

One thing Aptus has right and that is the importance of silica and the role it plays in plant health and growth. Many growers could easily increase plant health and growth by using a silica additive like Protek or one of the many brands of it on the market. Increasing biology in the media also has MANY benefits that can NOT be duplicated by any other method or additive.

By improving or adding these two factors (biology & Silica) ALONE one could easily see a 20 to 40% gain in yield. And if a little time and effort was put forth you can get that gain for a LOT less money than a bottle of Facilitator, that is for sure!

Yara told me they have no plans marketing Actisil in North America.

I tried getting some sent to me from a European supplier, but customs wouldn't clear it.

I should try again, eh.
