Cannabis contains more than 100 compounds, called cannabinoids, that have different biological effects on your body. Cannabis is prescribed for physical ailments like cancer or arthritis along with mental health issues like PTSD, depressions, and anxiety.

Marijuana in medicine has been under researched – largely due to it’s classification as a Schedule I drug. But due to it’s growing popularity, a team of researchers in Canada and the U.S. was able to conduct a review of the science.

In their report, published in the journal Clinical Psychology Review, researchers found evidence that cannabis can likely benefit people dealing with depression, social anxiety, and PTSD.

Like any drug, cannabis can have side effects (but none that are negative), so it is up to you to make the responsible decision of knowing whether or not cannabis is the right choice for you and your mental health.
