What's the story with getting legal in 2018 for cultivation in CA, and currently in 2017?

As I understand it, you currently need to be registered as a non-profit/collective, with 4+ members in order to sell to dispensaries, is this correct?

I have been told you can no longer register as a collective/non-profit as of November 2016, after the passing of Prop 64. Which means, if you are NOT a non-profit/collective, you cannot priority register for a new license, you instead have to wait until July 2017 to submit your application (this is in Sonoma County).

So, if your not a cannabis non profit now, and you cannot apply to be one any longer, you are not able to sell to dispensaries?

Looks like sales will be up, where that flower goes is the question for regulators methinks.

Following $2.5 billion worth of sales in 2016, Karnes predicts $2.8 billion in medical marijuana sales in 2017.

Although:
Prop. 64 reduced penalties for just about every marijuana-related crime, including downgrading selling cannabis without a license from a felony, which carried up to a four-year prison sentence, to a misdemeanor, with a possible maximum sentence of six months in jail, a $500 fine or both.
