Pipe Configuration?

I have the old UC system w/ blue buckets. The pipes that fit into the buckets are cut at right angles and I can't remember how to orient them. Is it staggered or do they all face the same direction? I can't find the old assembly video either. Any help would be appreciated.

I have always put mine so the direction of water is flowing into the long tapered end facing down.
