    Compost Extract

You do want to look at it under a microscope and make sure it is good fungi you are growing. Same pretreatment method can be used on aact not just an extract. Have done microscope analysis on brew compost as well as compost extract. Hope all is growing well.

    Mushrooms In Soil.

Agree with Perception, those look like an Inky Cap or Sphagnurus paluster. Have seen what appear to be the same type of mushrooms after applying a myco product. Pop up and then die within a day or two max. I added some King Stropharia spawn to my mulch of alder wood chips. Companion...

Korean Natural Farming (knf) Master Cho

You did not miss any chapters. Normal to get confused, some growers combine both or only use a portion of the KNF system instead of using as designed. JADAM farming, which is a Korean acronym for "people who are like Nature", was developed in the 90's by Dr. Cho's son, Youngsan Cho! JADAM...

Coot's Mix No Till Soil Help

Next time you make a base mix. The best bet is to make a smaller amount. I like to do 1 cubic foot. Test that and then proceed with a larger amount of soil. Cutting with peat will help drop the levels of all the minerals, if you want to do that and retest. Otherwise if you got time and space...

Ph, Ppm, Brix, Sap Ph... It's Time For New Meters.

Excellent. No way to measure sap with a normal ph meter. If testing sap can solely do brix but you get a better picture of what is going down if you know the ph. Yes clear line is lack of calcium. The cheap infrared thermometer is fine. 20-25 bucks. If you want to get fancy and also measure...

    How To Apply Neem Oil

The rules to avoid burning with oils. Like Neem! 1. Make sure the plants medium is not dry, has sufficient moisture. 2. Make sure when spraying plants the temp is below 80F. 3. Spray at lights off or sunset to ensure they have at least 6 hours to dry. 4. Make sure the oil is emulsified and...

Ph, Ppm, Brix, Sap Ph... It's Time For New Meters.

The sap ph meter can also be used to check the ph of your feed, coco coir in addition to the plant sap. IF you want to have a meter for checking the soil and then one for the nutrient and sap, then two meter works. But could spend the extra money on a infrared thermometer. Digital...

Coot's Mix No Till Soil Help

@DopeSnob You have excess cations that are contributing to high PH. What did you use for lime? Oyster shell flour or ag lime? Magnesium raises ph 1.6 times more than other cations. Flush it with Solution Grade Ag Gypsum. Lower the Mg, K and Na and the ph will drop.

Custom Soil Blend Lab Results: Interpretation/opinions?

The desired values are based on the work of Albrecht. He studied the relationship between soil and human animal health for over 30 years. The ideal values also create the ideal environment for the microbiology. Shooting for calcium to be at least at 68%, 12% Magnesium, 4% Potassium and 1.5%...

Custom Soil Blend Lab Results: Interpretation/opinions?

oops. posted too quick and unable to edit my posts. p.s. The ph will rise when you add the amendments. Ideally would be good to get the sodium levels lower. So can run some water through the medium after amending. Make sure the water does not contain excess sodium. Many times there can be an...

Custom Soil Blend Lab Results: Interpretation/opinions?

Way better. Excellent! Good job on following directions. I Will need some Ag Gypsum. Phosphorus and Manganese. Can add some kelp and then a meal for nitrogen and phosphorus. I suggested crustacean for a source of chitin and n and p. Here is what you can add Per yard 245 g - Kelp Meal 475 g...

Coot's Mix No Till Soil Help

I am just trying to help improve upon what has been shared. I mentioned all the same things to coot when I met him. O Foliar sprays help plants to exude more sugars (exudates) via the roots. The roots produce sugars called exudates. The increased levels of exudates help to feed the microbial...

Coot's Mix No Till Soil Help

Logan labs soil test. Costs $25-30.00. good bang for your buck. I No reason to be conflicted. If you do not want to end up with a mix that is unbalanced. Than make a few small changes. Use ag lime/oystershell flour and gypsum not dolomite. Use 1lb or less rock dust. Cut the compost down to...

    No Till By Organikz

"Insects are natures garbage collectors and diseases are the clean up crew." The mites on your plants are a sign they are not at peak health. Looks like an excess of nitrogen. Same reason the plants did not fade. When there is free nitrate in the sap it is a calling card for insects. The...

Coot's Mix No Till Soil Help

Cootz mix usually does not contain micronutrients in proper proportions either. There is a fix. Amend with the trace minerals. Excess magnesium and sodium can and will make your soil compacted. Not good in a no till situation. Azomite could add an excess of aluminum to say it is going to...

Coot's Mix No Till Soil Help

Maybe dolomite was recommended and then at a later time he learned about balance of cations. Your advice could lead to unbalanced soil with an excess of magnesium. Especially with a peat mix. An excess of magnesium is not desired. Magnesium raises ph 1.6 times more than other cations...
