I'm Looking For Igrow Induction Lighting Horror Stories

They just exhibited at last months Cannabis Business Conference which was held in Chicago where they tell anyone listening they have $5-7M in back orders. Seriously? If you have that kind of backlog why are spending time at another conference when you should be filling your orders? So it's...

I'm Looking For Igrow Induction Lighting Horror Stories

What I heard is the Colorado 'deal' burned their parent company Full Spectrum. What is not a rumor is FS now sells iGrow on their website for 1/2 the price. I think it would be entertaining to hear iGrow explain to their customers and dealers how that is supposed to work?

Day 60 and we're pulling our ladies up. Here's a shot of one of the Bluegill. We've got about 20# worth of fish in the tank now so growing larger plants means we'll have the fish waste to support them nutritionally. The WW and AC/DC we're ready and got pulled about a week ago. Compared to the...

Any recomendations for a good lightmeter?

As previously stated; the HF meter is junk and you should buy a good quantum meter where you will measure the uMoles of light being emitted. Not footcandles, lumens or lux. This is a case where you actually do get what you pay for (model no 3415F):

Fishless cycling is really the way to go. We jump start the systems with a pelleted commercial ammonia before we put the fish in and that works beautifully. Less shock to the fish.

Day 43 fish poop update! All the strains are super sticky and smell fantastic. The WW is 85% cloudy, 10 clear, 5% amber so I'm pulling it today. From what I'm told she's finishing about 10 days early. It looks like the AC/DC has started to cloud up so I'm thinking they might come down later...

Just one broad spectrum bulb for veg & flower?

Sedate: To my knowledge the 1972 McCree curve is still the industry standard for plant relative sensitivity absorption. If there have been improvements they have been subtle. You made an absolute statement where you consider certain spectrums 'unneccesaary' and you would not 'waste energy...

Just one broad spectrum bulb for veg & flower?

Sedate: You are laboring under old science. There is ample data to support the need for green light as a necessary component for optimum photomorphogenesis. As broad spectrum goes the plants finish differently than under narrow chromatic approaches such as straight HPS in flower. CBD:THC...

Just one broad spectrum bulb for veg & flower?

The sun is broad spectrum. Growing plants indoors under broad spectrums mimics natural conditions.

Thanks WS. The system is pretty easy to maintain and well within the range of the average gardeners capabilities. As far as the risk of developing e.coli I can say that while the room ambient did get over 100F during a stretch last week, the water temps never got over 84 which is a bit warmer...

Day 37. With the fish getting bigger and I wanted a veg bed anyway I took this opportunity to pull the tank back and add a new 30" x 50" tray which lets me gravity feed the fish tank water down through both media beds. I lit the bed with a single Pro-200 setup on an 18/6 photoperiod. For now...

Reefs are going to be finicky. In my case I am monitoring pH and it stays between 6.8- 7.0 which is a happy medium for both the fish and the plants. From what I've seen the plants become a buffer which helps regulate pH.

I have not been monitoring dissolved Co2 in the water. Are you thinking that with the added C02 it could raise the levels in the fish tank to unsafe levels? Keep in mind I'm aerating the 4 x 4 media bed with 4 air stones and the fish tank with 2 air stones. I've not noticed the fish acting...

Day 30 Update. I added Co2 4 days ago which puts me up to ~900PPM in the tent. Temps have been not been kind. This area is well ventilated and never gets above 90 but during the last couple of days I've been dealing with mid 90's for the better part of the day. The weather is supposed to...

COCO BEDS DIY QUESTIONS please help!!!!!!!!!

I've been growing in coco for many years and I can tell you that this is unlike any coco you've ever seen before. Check out the lab analysis on the attachment. http://www.inda-gro.com/IG/sites/default/files/pdf/Full Report-06-26-14.pdf Premium coco from Brazil. Not the 'premium' shit we get...

None of the water is ever standing. It's a constant flow, roughly 6 water changes per hour through the entire system. The outdoor tanks can grow algae from the sun hitting them but a couple of plecostomus make short work of that. They love algae and eat every bit of it that accumulates...

Thank you for your comments Seamaiden. Aquaponics is new to me so I'm learning as I go here. I was not aware of the gold fish issues. What are the issues with eating fish that eat gold fish? Their primary diet remains shiner bait fish. As to full colonization of the media bed taking up to...

Thanks Supercharge! I'm only a little over 3 months into this system so the media beds have not fully colonized all the beneficial bacteria. But the nitrification cycle can be complete in as little as a week with plants converting the fish waste from nitrites to nitrates. That's what I did...
