    tissue culture question!

Does phytotech make that kit? Or does someone just box that shiz up and blam! sounds like a rooting media. BA is a cytokinin which influences shoot production. NAA is an auxin which influences root production. The greater amount of NAA should influence roots. Got any picks of your cultures?

    quick question about Mothers

I have gone from coir to soil and done fine. Prune some of the bottom if possible and bury the pant a little deeper. I like to apply a generous amount of EWC or compost to the top of to coir transplant, and then cover with your soil. Any healthy soil will do. Building your own supersoil is...

    tissue culture question!

Dig, if you want to get serious about this I'd suggest a book called plants from test tubes. There is good guidance on media prep and stuff, but not much on sterile work. I'm sure youtube has some videos on still air boxes for growing mushrooms to help get you started and understand the...

    tissue culture question!

Nice man, if you're pressure cooking the jars for 20 min at 15 psi you are most definitely sterilized. Anyway you could post some pics of the kit? Does it tell you what's in it? Cytokinins or auxins? That's been most my struggle is not getting the explants sterilized or killing them. I guess...

How can I test the NPK of a home made nute solution (or ACT)?

Could testing your brew before and after give you an idea on how much "breakdown" of insoluble nutes become available after a brew? Most of my food goes in at the beginning of the recycling stage. Then I give some more at plant/transplant. I do a basic tea in early veg, ewc and alfalfa. Then a...

    tissue culture question!

Yes it is. It's under this section (advanced teks) as "in vitro micropropigation" (misspelled lol). I've never seen or used one of those kits so I don't really know much about how they tell you about doing things. How are you sterilizing the media? And does it have you mix up the media then...

    vermicomposting question

I use a milk jug, poke tons of tiny holes in it with a safety pin. Put some paper shreds in then some worms and casts. Dice your scraps up really nice so the worms can get it before the bugs. I shake the jug to bury the scraps this helps with bugs too. For indoors I really avoid starches...

    vermicomposting question

I've never (knocks) had root aphids from composting in or outside. You're more likely to get bugs from over feeding the bin. Especially in the beginning. Once established you can really load up on er without much bugs. But let your worm population rise slowly with gradual scrap increase. Worm...

    tissue culture question!

Look at some mushroom cultivation sites. There is great info on how to achieve sterile environments and techniques on a budget. A clean room is a long shot. As when YOU open the door to enter the room, you're going to fill it with contaminated air. And YOU being In the room breathing/moving...

    tissue culture question!

    In vitro micropropigation

I've thought a lot about using roots. Makes me wanna fire up the old aero cloner. I'd imagine just runnin h2o2 through it for a bit and then cut bits of roots off. If and when I have another flowhood things will go much smoother. You just need to get one cut to shoot and then you can go...
