Did Jack's Professional dye color change?

They replied by email with the following. "It seems you got some product with Dye in it. It is exactly the same as the yellow without dye. We have recently started to manufacture this without dye. Sorry for the confusion" So there you have it.

Did Jack's Professional dye color change?

That's odd, my CalNit is the same color, just the Jacks has changed from yellow to blue. I mixed up a res anyway and the e.c. did come in the same as the previous nutes.

Did Jack's Professional dye color change?

Until recently I was purchasing the 1lb containers of Jack's. It was working great so I decided to go with the 25lb bag. I received the bag and is a much different color than the stuff I had previously. The new stuff has a very blue tone, almost as if it has CalNit mixed in. The bag shows the...

NFT and GH 3 part problems. HELP!

For what it is worth if you are going to buy nutrients anyway I would do some research on Jack's Professional Hydroponic and Calcium Nitrate by JR Peters. There are a couple of us on The Farm and many elsewhere that have been running it with great success. It is extremely cheap compared to...

NFT and GH 3 part problems. HELP!

You first picture looks like it may be a Calcium deficiency. Since you have already been flushing I would refill and give the lucas formula a shot. I don't use GH and Lucas formula but anecdotal evidence on the web suggests that it is better than following the rates on the bottle. If you are...

Safely Remove Chloromine From Tap Water.

For chlorine: For chloramine: The msrp seems kind of pricey but you could probably get it cheaper from a local hydro shop.

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

If you still own the RO you could use the filters that Greenleaf is using inline before the RO to bring the PPM down enough to make your membrane last.

Give Your Bennies A Place To Live

I used DIY ones before these. For the $10 these cost they are much, much easier to use and maintain.

Give Your Bennies A Place To Live

I found these a while back and figured I would share. They are cheap, come with an extra set of filter media and are submersible so you don't have to hang something off the lip of the tank. All you need is an airline to power them. You also get the added benefit of adding more oxygen to the...

Safely Remove Chloromine From Tap Water.

HydroFarm makes a sediment filter called the TallBoy. They also sell a direct replacement filter for that unit that is specifically for removing chloramine. It is called a catalytic charcoal filter or something close to that. I don't use one so I can't speak for its quality.

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

Diamond nectar is liquid humic acids. You can use them fine in hydro, in fact Botanicare puts it in the PureBlenb Pro hydro nutrients they sell. If you use them in a water culture scenario (dwc/nft) don't be surprised to see humic acid buildup on the roots. It looks like a black thick slime. If...

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

I have been instructed to add Silica and give it a while to dilute before adding anything else. I havent been using it long but using that method I have not seen cloudiness. Your micro has all of the calcium so I would add that last as far as nutes go. If it were me I would go Silica...

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

Also a heads up to see where you are at, they recommend replacing the TallBoy filters after 6 months or 7,500 gallons. The 7,500 gallons assumes the incoming water is 1ppm.

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

What is the ppm of your water coming out of the tap? You can use well water and simple charcoal filters if it isn't too high. My water comes out of the ground at 40ppm and that's with zero filters. If I run it through the sediment filters on my RO unit it goes down to 1-2 ppm. If I runt it...

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

Cloudiness can be a symptom of nutrients falling out of the solution. Make sure if you use a Silica additive that you add it first and by itself. Let it dilute as much as possible in your tank before adding anything else.

Hydro res losing color over night becoming acidic

If you are running separate filters in each room try switching them between rooms and see if the problem follows to the other room. That will either show the filter as a problem or eliminate it from your troubleshooting. Are you flushing the system at all? It is possible there is salt residue...

    Yellow Slime in Recirculating Hydro

If you are getting the brown slime (Cyanobacteria), lowering the temperature will not always solve the issue. The batcteria can flourish in low light, cold and oxygentaed environments.I was getting it in Res's running at 60F. I started troubleshooting the system and for me it appeared to be a...

How do you run Jack's pro 5-12-26 in RDWC

Does anyone have an analysis of MOST. I've found a couple different numbers. I am hoping to find a PDF of the label like I have for jacks and calnit. Or if someone has it and can post the numbers off of the label I would be very appreciative. Same goes for Dynagrow protekt. I need to know the...

How do you run Jack's pro 5-12-26 in RDWC

Well I guess I'll jump in the game too. I measured my RH right at 28% with lights on. I threw a humidifier in there yesterday set at 60. I have been running around 1.3-1.4 EC at that RH with no burn. That being said I am hoping with both of your experiences to see even better growth after...

    Foliar Pack Dilution?

I haven't been battling anything, just using it as a preventative. A few weeks back I did have one plant that had what can only be described as crystalline dust around the bucket a day after spraying. It has not happened again since. It is hard to tell as it is microscopic but in doing research...
