Cheap alternatives to overpriced hydroponic nutrients

Another great thread if you’re interested in the nutrient profiles/needs of this plant. https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/120-60-300-120-60-177-2-nutrient-tutorial-or-my-thread-can-beat-up-your-thread.45906/ I learned a ton over here.

As long as you account for the potassium added from the potassium silicate it shouldn’t be a problem. I like to use hydro buddy when calculating my fertilization. Yes potassium and calcium is a balancing act but it’s not quite as extreme as you’d think. I’ve ran upwards of 325 ppm of potassium...

Cheap alternatives to overpriced hydroponic nutrients

All you need to worry about when running coco is a little bit higher Ca & Mg to account for the media holding on to it & add 50ppm of K for the amount of potassium the media breaking down provides. so because of the ratio your N will be a little higher, but in application it’s usually taken...

Cheap alternatives to overpriced hydroponic nutrients

Silicic acid is great for foliar applications because of its availability but if your using it in a fertilizer any potassium silicate product is totally fine.

Haha damn looks like I’m the one now who’s not reading the thread before I post in it. LOL Idk how I missed that it’s 100% ammonium. Fail Glad there’s more knowledgeable people around here than me. :)

Cheap alternatives to overpriced hydroponic nutrients

Whats wrong with that? Yeah urea is a cheaper form of nitrogen but a 10:1 ratio of nitric nitrogen to ammoniacal nitrogen is a good ratio to keep ph balanced and since he's growing in media, bacteria would break down that urea into ammoniacal in less than two days. Studies have shown plants can...

Sorry edited it, didnt mean to say the part about jacks. Glad you got it figured out. Cant think off the top of my head but fertilization is pretty much the same you just want to make sure you take it easy to avoid salt buildup and theres just a couple things different in regards to a couple...

Im not sure since I've never used canna, but it looks very close ratio wise. Just dilute it down to the same ppm as what you were running with canna. Only thing is its chelated with EDTA which is toxic to plants.

@youngOG Did you bother to read the thread before posting in it?😂 This "nutrient chemistry" is laid out for anyone who wants to learn it in this thread and on the web. But actually yeah you're somewhat right though. Find the right base nutrient with the proper element ratios, you honestly don't...

Man I don't know why people have such big ego's in this industry. I was hoping with legalization & the widespread of this psychedelic plant, one love would become more prevalent. ;p When it comes down to it, nutrients are nutrients, the key is to learn to break down nutrient labels and be...

    Girl Scout Cookies & Friends

I know this has been discussed a thousand times with no conclusion but I think its funny how when GSC first hit the scene and it wasn't popular the genetics weren't disputed as: F1 durban = Florida OG x Durban Cherry Pie = F1 Durban x GDP Girl Scout Cookies = Cherry Pie X F1 Durban it seemed...

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Hey, its working great, I can take a picture of it vortexing next time I have it going if youd like. The hose goes down 2/3rds of the way. You can play around with how far down it goes and use what works best for you. Also, make sure you get a large pump, bigger the better. That is if you want...

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Plastic carboys for brewing come in 3 & 5 gallons and have a cone shaped induction bottom. All you gotta do is cut the top off and you're good to go. at a 10 to 1 ratio I didn't need anything larger than a 5 really, and if I need less I can just fill it halfway. :P

Made New Vortex Tea Brewer Today

Grab a plastic carboy from your local brewing supply if you don't need a huge size cone bottom (induction) tank. They come in 3 & 5 gallons, plus they usually don't have a handle as well so everything cyclones well and nothing gets caught up on the side to become anaerobic.

    The Terpinator Saga

Extremely interesting... Thank you for sharing this information Ecompost! From reading the article you posted, I want to draw the conclusion that possibly the cause of different/increased flavors and smells from organic gardening come from the diverse kinds of terpenoid producing bacteria found...
