is it the bulb or the ballast? I haven't noticed it flickering but after comparing photos it looks slightly dimmer.

Is it possible for a 400W hps with a digital ballast to get dimmer before it dies or is it either on or off? I don't know if I'm just imagining it but it seems a bit dimmer. I've used the bulb for about 3 months now.

sorry to bump old thread but this got me worried and I don't know anything about electric. I'm only running a 400w hps but the plug feels a little warm. Not too warm to touch but noticeably warmer. Is this normal?

well I tried out the towel but it only raised the humidity 1%. I guess the whole house humidifier is my only option. Thanks.

it's new. I refill the 1 gallon tank every day. I'm growing in my basement so I'm contending with the furnace. I know it's not ideal but it's the only space I have.

As the winter rolls in humidity is dropping into the 20s. My grow box is small so I think if I hang a wet towel in there it should help but I'm worried about mildew. Has anyone tried this? Last thing I need is mildew.
