How do you know it was from the patches?

Slow and steady. My extraction tube fits a quad, so i only end up with about a gram to purge. 3 hours or so at 115 and its done reacting. Eventually I'd like to get a small vac and chamber. I've done a couple of iso runs as well, so easy but I don't really like the consistency of the product...

I do such small runs I'd probably not even consider what is collected a "slab" lol. But yea while purging I keep it as thin as possible. And agreed, something like this you'll learn something new just about every run. I'm getting there tho!

Do you purge directly on your heat source or do you use a double boiler? My griddle will get to around 200 but with the double boiler it keeps my Pyrex at a perfect 115.

I think the biggest factor in producing shatter is a consistent temperature. I do not use a vac chamber, only double boiler to purge mine, and I produce a gorgeous shatters consistency just about every time. Are you using an ir thermometer? Here's my two most recent batches.

If your getting 10% returns on trim, I'd think nugs would yield significantly more, yet I'm always right around that 10%.
