Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I wasn't finding it easily. I realize one way to deal with chlorophyll in your extract is to not extract it. What I'm asking about though is how people are removing Chlorophyll from their concentrates and pros and cons of those techniques. Thanks!

Good post, thanks. I tend to disagree with your assessment of extracting at elevated pressures: it really matters at what point in the extraction you increase the pressure. For example if you start off the extraction right away at high pressure, what you said is true. This is because terpenes...

They have helped me come up with a bunch of application specific modifications. Great company to have working on these issues.

I send the exhaust from the last collector through a glycol water cooling heat exchanger (I use the same one Waters uses for their system heat exchanger) into a 1L collection vessel before recycling the CO2. The vessel I'm using is rated to 10,000psi which is overkill, but I had it leftover...

I added a terpene trap to my Waters system. "CS4" I run it at 5-10C. I built it when I upgraded my 1L collection vessels to 2L vessels.

I love my Waters System, and I get great extraction and analysis support.

Volumetric flow rates are different than mass flow rates for CO2. Some people don't understand that.

Great post, thanks. In my opinion, the biggest issue with BHO extractions is the misunderstanding behind the purity of the butane. It is pretty easy to obtain 99.9% pure CO2 and butane. The difference is that in butane that o.01% impurities are nasty compounds like PAHs and other hydrocarbons...

You are exactly right. There is no difference in the CO2 solvent properties if you pump liquid CO2 and don't heat it or compress gas and condense it. Except gas compressors are terribly inefficient and loud. People heat liquid CO2 to increase extraction efficiency and get different analyte...
