There are a LOT of Urban Legends around when it comes to growing, with some having a kernel of truth while others are pure bullshit. When I either sprout a plant or grow a cutting, I leave it alone for about a week. The roots will grow like crazy on their own and don't really grow any better roots by cutting all of the leaves off. I don't use LED lighting for the most part...is that 2000w at the wall or 2000w equivalent? If using an HID, I would probably go with a 600w bulb...it's hard to compare them because there is no fixed conversion for them...1 mans 2000 watt system is another guys 4000 (or 1000) since they are hard to compare apples to apples. With your limited space, you will want to focus on training the plants to stay low and stretch the branches out horizontally as much as possible. I've never tried SOG or SCROG growing methods, but people have had a lot of success with this process.
There are some very experienced growers here...some do it for personal pleasure and a stash, while others try to grow and sell as much as possible. Keep reading and you will begin to see some of the same names that seem to know what they are doing. Keep in mind that it's a plant and give it what it needs, but don't force feed it or try anything unusual until you get all of the small kinks worked out of your system. Once you get used to them, what they like and what they don't like then you can go wild and do all kinds of stuff...but keep it basic at first. Things are looking good...I like the "Nursury"!

Pretty sure its equivalent I used a light meter to gauge hanging height. Right now it says 800 at plant level 1000 at screen and 1500-2000 in the 12in range between. I am trying the SCROG method this time. I did lots of training and haircuts pretty frequently which I believe stressed them pretty good. trying to cut minimal away for lighting and see what they do now. Switching nutrients to flower cycle tomorrow for first feeding. Do I need to flush them first? As you said I am trying to keep it simple. This is from tonight...

The bigger bushy one is a re-vegged Sativa and this one was a clipping from her. Here is round two, I took some from all, I just hope to time everything right. Those pics were right after a haircut, so bushy I feel like I am murdering them each time. Again, my first real grow so let me know if I can do anything better next time. Should I be feeding the clippings anything but water? treat like seedlings? Not sure, they look ok...

Thanks in advance...

A lot of growers take smaller cuttings because they are supposed to root faster. If you look around the internet for article a lot stress that you want smaller clones for faster roots. And you were right by clipping the ends.

Hi All,
Happy Saturday!! 65 days from sprout, 57 days for #3OGK. Flipped 14 days ago and only ladies came to the party. :) Little cramped now but I just can't pick one to kick out. Pulled a few better cutting and stuck them in pucks (thanks for the tip Dirtbag!). Danielle #1 was stretching long so did a little pinching there (in the middle of the pic)...

I just posted some newer cuttings from earlier this week and I do agree these look much healthier being a little bigger...

Those last cuttings you took look MUCH better. I do snip the tips of the leaves off with a pair of sterile scissors if, and only if the leaf is quite big and drooping, and/or its causing overlapping leaves in the cutting tray. If I fill a tray packed with like 40 clones I will cut the leaves in half. That reduces the transpirational capacity so the plant wont dry out and the lack of overlapping leaves means less chance of mildew/mold.

Awesome, thanks for the help. Is it just me or does anyone else love the smell on fingers after training?

Hi All,
the room looks good I think. RH and temp very steady, I have not had to put water in the humidifier in a week. This cutting has turned all light green and not sure what to think about it??? Flowers have started on all seven, little tight and I think I need another light for the next round. Missing photo of Bethany, I would say she is the runt.

I saw/read something about cutting them to focus growth on roots. So my main room is 3x4x6 w/ 2000W LED. I was not able to build out another space for seedlings, so I came up with this under closed counter space getup. Just a 100W bulb. HR has been over 80 steady. Sides are vented for fresh air. I am going to go in tomorrow when lights come on and take better cuttings, picked up some peat pucks too. Thanks again, Thoughts? ... View attachment 858350 View attachment 858353

Upgraded Nursery today. Kids BD cake came in a perfect box just screwed some plastic rods to support corners, plastic wrap, and cut lid. Worked out great and looks much cleaner.

New growth is always a light green. As it grows, it will turn a darker green, although the centers are almost always green from new growth.

How long can I keep them in here? I am 30 days away from harvest in my main room. No autos

Makes me smile, even on a Monday morning. Added additional light for the back side of Sammie (tallest). Other than that nothing much to do it seems like. 52RH 75DEG, water every other day, cutting away shading and little growth off the main limbs. 66days (#3), 74days (the rest), 23days since flip...

How come they're so wet? I'd be cautious foliar feeding or spraying anything on them in flower. Lest the mold and mildew pay you a visit...
But.. to each their own..

Ah, just spraying balanced water in the morning, I read it was good at first but stop after two weeks into flowering (prevent mold). I will discontinue as mold does not sound like anything I want to risk. RH is steady at 52-55% should I lower?

That RH is fine for flower. Though I do like to drop it closer to 40% for the last couple weeks.

Awesome thanks, going to nix the spraying.
