Nice thread

I'd like to know the strain - strains ?

And the reasoning for the heavy de foil . I'll stick around to see the results

Plants look to be stacking

I have three strains running . Adub #1, Amherst Sour Diesel then I have one of my new cross I am calling Sancho OG. Mostly Adub though , 3 of the diesels and one of my new crosses.

I heavy defol because it works . Been doing it for A long time . Proof is in my results . I would be willing to compete with anyone on here . I will put up 500 bucks if someone wants to battle .

Since this will be a smaller tunnim doing an experiment . Been growing like this for so long that I want to push the envelope . I typically defol at day 1 then day 35-40 then a small trim at week 6 .

I think the plants could take more if I provide added nutrients to counter . So half the room I am going to defol the whole last two weeks of flowering , did it last night to see results .cant wait to mind fuck the lot of you.

It slows branch growth at the deleafed node so rather than growing another branch there you get a big nug leading to a more compact column look. Redirecting auxins. More air flow and direct light on target buds leading to superior gas exchange/ carbon assimilation

Great example of de leaf results

Just did another trim on the whole room. Being this is a mini R&D grow I might as well do all the tests. I pretty much removed all the bigger fan leaves again . She will take a day to recover but I am very curious to see how dense I can get the entire plant. I really think despite this trim I am going to get a nice yield .
I vegged all these under two lights (MH)for about 12 days . I then flipped them and flowered (Hortilux) them for the first 3.5 weeks under two lights . They have been under 4 lights for about two weeks . This saved a lot of money without affecting yield.

All the babies are doing awesome in my kids room .

Next round Going to run the room full strength , add an automated water only system. I will hand feed once per night with nutes then the girls will get only water off the drip at night for a min or so. Just to keep them wet .

Here are some shots.

If optimal pruning were an easy thing to demonstrate, we would all agree.
I have often thought that an optimal fan pruning plan might include the promotion of select fans, and the aggressive pruning of small fans, as in remove them before they get a chance to grow.
Small fan pruning [(SFP) acronyming it makes it a thing] would prevent removal of so much biomass (primary productivity) allowing those goods to create more desirable plant parts.

Very nice room, by the way.

Yes I too feel SFP us necessary . I was strategic in leaving a few fans here and there but I feel that they do t need them at this point especially if I am providing her with non plant food ingredients like carbs . Basically providing the plant with what the leaves would have . We are playing god by growing like this but god gave us brains to use them .

IMO There is no "optimal" pruning. Just canopy management for your specific situation to maximize quality and yield. Removing leaves in a dense canopy where many leaves and buds are not receiving direct light or good airflow WILL increase quality and possibly yield. Selective deleafing in early flower WILL alter plant structure and node spacing. If you remove leaves in a sparse canopy where lots of light is already hitting the floor you're kicking yourself in the nuts. It should be common sense, not sure how it ever got to be all or nothing. It's basic botany. A "source" in the shade becomes a "sink"

Few dark pics so you can see the buds stacking.
Went in the room right now and my CO2 was reading 1560?? I have it set at 1100? Why is it so high ? I also checked to se if the tank is leaking which it isn’t. This shouldn’t be so high especially because lights have been

They release some co2 at night. More so if the humidity is high. Mine goes over 2k

Hey guys and gals . This is a video of my room so you can give me pointers . Check out how much they have swollen and stacked since then ..
Do you guys use reflective material on your walls ?
Next round I will repaint floor bright white then clear epoxy over it so it’s easy to clean .

Any pointers on how to maximize my space ? Do I have the set up to get optimum highest quality buds? I think I do pretty well but I am biased . Don’t worry you won’t hurt my feelings .

SCROG? Heres mine, (most of it not seen at this angle) week 5, Lemon Skunk...A mixture of 400 and 600s = 5K watts .. plants take up aprox 7 x 9 foot space..perlite recirculating 30ltr pot system /12 plants (no idea yield?, bigger and better than ever b4 :) )

All my clones for next round have been planted in gro bags to get fat . Once rooted really well (10-14 days ) I top them all at 2.5 inches . Their first topping is ok as long as they have a good root system . Once they get 4-5 inches I will top them again . This helps me by not only giving my plants amazing structure ( didn’t do it last round) but it also buys me time . I flower then do a two week cure in my grow room . I hate losing that time but my room is the only place I could keep temps at 65 and RH at 55-60. So the topping def buys me time . When the girls finally get to the stadium they are ready to blast . Most important part of this stage is building a spectacular root system to handle the rigors of flowering . MAke sure your plants are in Olympic shape otherwise your wasting your time . If your plants aren’t chugging water your root system is inadequate . Will you grow buds ? Yes. But like I always say , it’s easy to grow shitty product .

I top them when they are at least rooted this much . Be careful not to go too crazy .
