Any Growth Changes Between 2700k And 6000k?

Are there any hormonal or metabolic changes that happen when a plants light is changed from a 6000k to 2700k? I've heard that "a photon's a photon" as far as a plant is concerned and wonder if trying to mimic the earths seasons for different growth cycles by using 6000k for spring/summer and 2700k for fall creates any growth changes during 12/12 compared to a unchanged spectrum.

you're on the right track following the seasons. 2700-3000k will trigger autumn, time to bloom, bu you also want some 6000 then as well
