Looking at this light possibly to add to my led tent. Anyone have any knowledge of this brand and/or possible similarly priced alternatives? Thanks Bo

In the US, that's expensive for what you're getting. You can pick up a 3500k x2 100w(200w) CXB3590 for around $300US and those are top tier lights. If you're in Canada then that pricing makes sense. Way overpriced up there. If you're in the US then you can pick up a x3 100w(300w) CXB3590 for $290 on Amazon but it will need $50-$100 in upgrades to make it proper. If you want, you can swap out CXB COBs for several other CXB colors that cover any part of the spectrum since they are modular chips. CXB 3500k work just fine though.

There are even cheaper Vero29 fixtures that have a similar output to the CXB3590, though not quite as efficient at lower output levels.

Thank you for taking the time to comment man! I am in the US. I have a 3x3 tent with a 270watt cree 3590? In there already. But not enough coverage. Anything you would suggest to add to that to expand my coverage? Thanks again , I appreciate any help.

Yes. I can help.

What clearance, % of output, fixture setup? The only way I see that light not being able to cover that area is if you mean 270w comparable to HPS, because 270w wall draw (ie, 3x 100w 3590, running on a 270w driver, could still be called a 300w on its label) is equivalent to a 810w HPS. A 300w (wall draw) 3590 fixture covers a little less than 8ft sq at 8" clearance (bloom clearance) and must be turned down to 60%-70% not to oversaturate the plants. At 100% power it should have no problem running 9ft sq.

Can you give me a pic of your setup?

If that's a single 100w no dimmer and hasn't been custom modified with a dimmable driver then she's probably running only 65w, which is about 270w equivalent to HPS.

My guess is, this is what you mean.

Sorry, I mean a 100w single can be rated at 270w comparable to HPS even though it's actually probably closer to 200w, because of the real wall draw being around 65w on a fixed low output driver.

To further explain, Cree BINs these lights so the output can vary greatly but they average around 100w+ with a proper driver.

Let me first thank you again for your help . I'll begin though by saying I'm not very technically knowledgeable. I run the 3 cob light down the middle of the tent. She is 3x3x6. The light itself I'll post a pic of what I bought. I did add a dimmer. Just the growth looks like it needs more oomph. The light could be fine for all I really know though.

I've never seen a CXB3590 chip that looked like that.

Those look like Vero29 chips.
Led vero29 gen 7 cob 100W led 350x350

Even then, they should be able to grow that 3x3.

I looked up your fixture and the driver in the picture is only 250w. It says the kit can between 150w or 225w, depending on the driver.

Thanks man, maybe I'll just get 2 of the singles and hang on each side of my main cob. What I have flowered fine in my smaller 2x2x4 tent but this last one in the newer 3x3x6 was noticeably different.

If those are 100w x3 Vero29 you should be able to buy a 300w driver for them (I'm not sure their exact wattage rating, you'll need to check). If you do bump up the wattage then you'll need to put a fan over each COB and the driver shouldn't be directly mounted to the heatsink.

Just like this triple CXB. Except it needs a third fan directly over the middle COB and the driver needs to be off the rail. Look familiar?

At $290 I've had my eye on this one for a while. It gets some bad reviews due to heat problems because it's set up wrong but it looks like a good deal if modified (I'd install a 300w driver and maybe 3 single heatsinks). Even if the CXBs are low binned it's worth it.
