Buds Treated With Citric Acid?

I recently bought some buds from TCS compassion center and on the back it stated grown in Coco and treated with Citric Acid. I realize some people use citric acid to adjust pH but what is citric acid being used as a treatment for?

Probably to add smell and taste.. i stay away from treated bud.... good stuff is good alone.
