It's a genetic mutation called fasciation or also called mohawk. You won't be using much of this bud. But it's awesome to look at.

I’ve been trying to figure out how I’m going to use it. I’ve been calling it a shark fin :) I’ll probably use it to make a tincture.

You need to check the inside of things like that for mold and bud rot... Like almost daily

Good call. I’ve been looking at it daily but haven’t been that thorough. I’ll start inspecting it better than I have been.

She also has three shoots per node with fat buds. She already had bigger buds at three weeks than my other plants that were in week 6 of flower. I might check for four shoots per node when the lights come back on. She is definitely a unique plant. I almost wish I didn’t have to cut her down!

I'm onto my second grow with a Dinafem CBD, cloned from seed and it appears to be doing same thing. I wondered if originally the mutation came from a light leak or some other stress but the clone is not under any condition that could stress it.
I'm calling it polyploidism but my friend is calling it fasciation. The mutation doesn't show until apical meristem starts to produce flowers.
The first photo is the plants from seed
2 out of 3 showed the mutation.
The second photo is the clone just starting to flower.
