This is how I DTW. This is an upstairs bedroom. When the 30 gallon containers are full with runoff, I bring a hose from downstairs and stick it in the container, turn it on until it flows, then turn it off, unscrew bottom portion and I can water my downstairs garden with the runoff using gravity.

If setup correctly drip to waste is a killer system. But then again that cost tons of money. If you're the kind of grower that is all over your plants everyday, hand watering is super cheap and super effective.

Yes, I would love to set up a drip to waste as it seems like it could save me some time, but honestly I enjoy watering my plants and for now it's working out for me
