A few hot days recently & I was away for work too, so plants were looking a little dry, a few yellowing lower shade leaves, but after a good drink, some Molasses, and some flowering/fruit nutrients for the Auto Vesuvius, things are looking better. I’m still training the random bagseed low, the Female Seeds Grapefruit is in a Geo Fab Pot now, and the Auto is flowering away, despite all the trauma she was subjected to. I won’t yield much at all from her but it’s been fun to grow my first auto. I need to invest in some larger Geo Fab Pots soon...

Roughly day 45, everything looking pretty good. The Grapefruit is getting tall, leaves are big too.

The bagseed is responding well to the LST, spreading nicely across the ground and starting to spring upwards.

My poor abused Auto is flowering nicely now, we’re at about day 10 of flower.

Have also moved the Chronic Thunder outside and into a bigger pot...

Been a while, around day 65 now. Had some crazy heat the last few days, and now some storms. Trying to build some shade structures as the Indica Dom. strains just don’t cope with the crazy heat. The Sativa Dom. (Grapefruit) is loving it though...

The H.A.S.H Auto Vesuvius is thickening up nicely, I think maybe 2 more weeks and she’ll be done. Will start checking the Trichomes soon.

The Grapefruit was getting too tall, had to cut about 300mm off the top. Started topping the other lower branches too.

The random seed from my friends grower mate is looking nice. Spreading her out across the ground. Not sure if I should keep tying her down.

Chronic Thunder is powering along and needs to be re-potted.

All in all pretty happy so far. Can’t wait for the flower show to begin, but still a few more weeks to go...

Looking good! Keep it up and i hope you get a wonderful and clean harvest ( subbed )

This is a suggestion I thought worth giving out . If you got your own ways/preventive plan . I was just trying to help since I didn’t See anything stated.

Fungicides !:

if you can get a product called greencure (1st choice ) And every 7 days Inless showing infected , also good to have a 2nd/3rd rotate fungicide ethier that brand of fungicide use these( procidic 2, any citric acid based for mold like nuke em or dr zymes , I would stop spraying nuke after 5-6th week max flower ) for pm/bud rot . I would always suggest that for OD ( even if it was 5% hydrogen peroxide + wetting agent ) if you have infection on harvest day you can cut your plants down and disinfect that way

Just sucks to harvest a amazing bud to find out it’s worthless and budrot , healthy plants , genetics that are resistant/no hermies and prevention and airflow = is the key for healthy OD plants

Thanks for th reply Burned Haze! I hadn’t thought about fungicides at all, I guess I was so worried about pests that I forgot about mould etc.

One of my plants last year got smashed by mould, it was a Barney’s Farm Cookies Kush, thick, dense buds, and unfortunately we had a fair bit of rain about 2 weeks before harvest. I ended up trying a “wet cure” to save the infected buds. Not ideal though, as the smell & look of th buds was compromised. Still smoked well though, and didn’t seem to lose any potency. Just looked awful!

I really like the Hydrogen Peroxide bath idea, great video, thanks for posting that!

I’ll see if I can get those products you mentioned.

Cheers,
Ed

^ if you get food grade concentrated hydrogen peroxide (35%+) that will save you a ton of cash compared to using 3% pre dilluated ( that’s what I do ) I use as a preventive at 5% sprayed on plants and 3% dilated rate when I’m cleansing them for final wash outside

I got 10 gal of food grade 35% for $90 bucks . Why the fuck would I want to buy 3% ( most stores charge like 1-4 bucks for a pint lol)
Too easy when amazon and all online/hydro give free shipping too!( sound like a rep )

* Here’s a chart that will help you mix it and show you 35% is way to go and no reason to buy 3% (lol)

Unreal, thanks! So no issues spraying H2O2 on buds? There’s no ill effects if you consumed buds that have been sprayed?

I’ve kind of lost track a little... found a good app called ‘Grow Buddy’ which I think I’ll use for my next indoor grow...

I’ve built a small shade cloth structure for the unknown strain to help hide her, and of course shade her from the intense sun. She has started to show pre-flowers now which I’m happy about as I’m losing height quickly. I’ve had to top and LST the plant a little, may have to raise the shade cloth...

The Chronic Thunder has recovered after some crazy hot weather. She is showing pre-flowers too. I’m going to clone her for my indoor Grow when the weather starts to cool. Trying my first ScrOG.

The Grapefruit was getting crazy tall again, I’ve moved some bamboo in front of her to hide her and have done some LST on the canopy. I’ve also started lollipoping her lower branches. Not sure if that was a good idea or not...

The flower show continues. The Chronic Thunder is well and truly under way, unfortunately not nearly enough time in Veg so she barely has any side branching. I won’t bother cloning her for indoors, will just grow from seed instead. I’m actually trying to pollinate her with some old CS feminized Cookies Kush pollen, not sure if it will work though.

The unknown strain is looking great and has outgrown the shade cloth. She is still in a sort of preflower state.

The Auto Vesuvius is close...

Some bad news unfortunately, what I thought was Grapefruit has turned out to be male. My conclusion is that in the initial seed mix up, the male plant would actually be the unknown seed from my mate, and the plant in the ground is infact the Grapefruit. The breeder was Female Seeds, who only sell feminized seed, so my assumption is that I made the fuck up, and that I wasn’t sold regular seeds that were supposed to be feminized. Sorry for the long back story...

All else going well, tent has a new home, slightly more favorable temperature conditions in its new home. Have cleaned the tent & slowly setting up for winter grow. Probably should plant seed soon, thinking Chemdog x 2 ScrOG, soil under Solsense 315W LEC/CMH

Grapefruit is looking good, Chronic Thunder is going to be one chunky bud on a stick lol... not enough time in Veg.

The Grapefruit is going to be a monster bush!

Fingers crossed the Chronic Thunder x Cookies Kush breeding experiment works. Chronic Cookies sounds nice...

Bought a new microscope, the resolution isn’t great unfortunately. Kind of hard to tell if the Trichomes are clear, cloudy, or Amber...

This is the Auto Vesuvius from High Altitude Seed House

Any thoughts? I’m thinking of chopping her this weekend...

A minor disaster...

I think my brother in law’s dog pissed on my plant. Decided to pull the plant last night to avoid more contamination, and found a few bugs, some rot which I think was due to a small caterpillar. Seems I wasn’t paying as much attention to my plant as I should’ve. Lesson learnt, need to be a little more hands on when inspecting my girls...

Also noticed a cheeky nanner...

The Grapefruit is still going well, about week 4 of flower. It’s supposed to be Cinderella (C99) crossed with a fast flowering, fruity Sativa, but I still think it will be a 12 week flower. Putting on plenty of bulk now. I’ve placed some strategic steaks around the plant to spread it out a little and hold up some of the bigger colas. Been crawling underneath and doing some lollipopping too...

I’ve also removed the top layer of shade cloth, and will be ready to put some clear plastic corrugated roof sheeting on in case we get some rain.

h202 on the way too, just to get a head start on any mold...
