How Long Do You Keep Your Plants In The Dark?

like the title says...do you keep your plants in the dark before harvest? If so for how long? Why?

Anywhere from 24-72 hours from what I've seen. Cause science.

Dark probably doesn't hurt, but I have yet to read compelling testimony as to improving product.
I've been thinking it's a commercial method used to accommodate processing flow.
Dark rooms awaiting harvest are witnessed by a civilian, and the idea goes viral.
Please correct me if you can.

Only time they see dark is 12 or 6 hrs depending on the light cycle.

I'd you wet trim, do NOT do a dark cycle. Good luck trimming when all the fn sugar leaves suck into the buds. I know 1st hand.

k from Trichome Tech recommends 24 hours and Jorge Cervantes recommends 36 hours and states going to 48 or more is actually detrimental. I haven't personally done anymore than 14. I'm going 36 this time out of curiousity.
