I’ll try to make this short.
Been married my to husband for about 6 years, we got married pretty fast after dating. Found out after or shortly before our wedding day the extent of his alcohol addiction. He hid it pretty well while we were dating.
He grew up in foster care since a young age and was physically an sexually abused. He struggled with alcoholism since his 20s so for about 20ish years he struggled with addiction. He is/was a real life Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. The change in him after he’s been drinking is freightning. I was either going to leave him or he had to quit drinking. When I was pregnant with my son, he got arrested on a felony domestic violence charge but I was able to talk the prosecutor down to a misdemeanor non-DV charge. He didn’t need prison, he needed help and I knew prison would just make things worse and I knew that’s not who he wanted to be. He didn’t want to be an alcoholic but he was so consumed by the addition that nothing could pull him away from its evil claws. In comes cannabis. I told him to try it. He dabbled in it a few times and he got a taste of what life could be like, what he could have, and it gave him the chance to become the person he always wanted to be. So where do I come in? I grow it for him. He needs a lot to keep his demons at bay and the street value would cost more than $2000 per month. We started out buying but quickly realized we needed a better solution and that solution was me growing it for him. We’ve been experimenting on he best strains for him, so far very high THC (the higher the better) has been the only effective medicine for him.

Waiting on that federal legalization....

Oddly because of my love of cannabis I’ve never really had the inkling to use anything harder. Sure I tried shrooms a couple times, tried acid a couple times and did some pills from time to time but nothing really stuck except cannabis.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for the last 20 years. Started my first business in 1999. In 2014 i met a guy from Brazil and he had a product that had potential. He had launched it a few times unsuccessfully and the last two companies he partnered with ripped him off big time. I reached out through a mutual friend and decided to partner with him on a new company. I did all the marketing, sales and distribution of our products. He did r&d and technical support. We did some wonderful things over the course of three years. I was paying him nearly 40k/month in royalties alone at one point. Manufacturing stock was always a bottleneck and we had competitors from his other failed partnerships to deal with. Early in 2018 his brother in law talked him into kicking me out of the company and tried to take over my role. They started selling product behind my back and contacted my wholesale accounts to cut me out. I got wind of this and told him to fuck off.

I’ve been doing this shit for nearly 20 years. I’ve been successful the entire time without him. So I didn’t need him in my life and we parted ways. Needless to say he has failed miserably since then. Sales are practically 0 now and he doesn’t know what to do. Quite simply he couldn’t sell water in the desert.

So I’ve been in and out of a funk as I’ve tried to start a new company. I’ve had to reposition myself numerous times to try and make a living. My passion is cannabis and I want to pursue my passion. I want to make it easier for folks to grow for themselves. And that is my goal every single day. I’m not where I want to be and still struggle on a daily basis but I feel this is the right path and will do my best to make it happen.

I still struggle with things beyond my control. And still need help to get my mind right. I try to remain positive and hope that eventually it comes full circle. But it’s a daily grind and the future is full of unknowns. It’s scary but this is what I do and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Maybe check into making concentrates. Also taking a break every now and then certainly helps clean out your system and reset your tolerance.

One thing through out my life that has helped me immensely is mixing herb with music. In my younger days I was what you would call a metal head. In those days speed metal was a very destructive source to mix with speedy drugs. Ultimately when I learned how to enjoy the Grateful Dead there was so much to discover learn and enjoy with the herb that I grow and smoke today.
I've definitely mellowed out a lot since my younger days lol. I can't even really listen to metal much anymore. But I can't live without music. I would probably give up herb before I would give up music.

I will. I want him to try edibles but so far what I’ve made had no effect on him (got me pretty high though). I might buy a decarbing machine. Maybe experiment by making a cannabis “flour” and making bread with it. Or cannabutter... he is not a big fan of sweets but could eat gummy bears. So I have a few options.

My husband has had Epilepsy for 30 years. Medications can be difficult; when you find something that works to stop seizures and doesn't make you a zombie, it makes your gums bleed. Or pecker not work well. Or have terrible meltdowns. Or develop a tolerance so you have to take more. Its an ongoing battle, even for the caregiver.

A year or so after we met, he bought a huge jar of RSO from a friendly source and within a week there was already a big improvement. I had been tracking his seizures on my Google calendar and would proudly show before and afters with a dramatic difference. Around this same time, oil pens started appearing in the underground market. We really enjoy flower but to KNOW what it is, be concentrated, and what the effects were, it opened up a whole new world. We both now have MMJ cards; mine for anxiety & period pain. It's awesome but EXPENSIVE, hence my lil flower garden.

He hasn't had a Gran Mal seizure in a little over a year, his simple partial seizures break thru 1-2 times a month, usually if he's overtired. Even those went from 6-8 hours of no speech to 15-30 minutes before he can communicate. He used to have bad confrontational meltdowns over seemingly nothing (side effect) but he's able to recognize when "Mr. Bungle" is on the way and defuse himself. He voluntarily decided not to drive anymore and I get to see live music for free since I'm now his roadie/chauffeur/groupie wrangler. We eloped in Colorado nearly two years ago and spent an obscene amount of money so we could try all of the things we can't try in our state. It was NOICE!

This Plant is amazing and I really hope the Fed ban is lifted soon so health insurance will cover our medicine! Sure we exceed the recommended dosage but what doesn't kill us makes us cough harder, no?
I'm so glad so many are finding Peace with this plant!

Hahaha! Genuinely man it's pretty fitting for my life. Sports, and cars I obsessed over and when I got older sports started falling away and when money got tight so did cars. Growing may have helped me more than I give it credit for, even if it hasn't it's still some of the truest words I've heard for awhile!

I had zero friends and zero hobbies for years and only in the last 3 have I been turning it around really just from a new passion for life.

I'm glad you're honoured but the words are the right ones! Much love brother!

I know what you mean man. Its good that you got out of the spiral, many people can’t or won’t and they sink into the abyss of their tormented minds, deeper and deeper. Positivity and love all around bro.

I know this is a little off topic. But I'm extremely curious to see if anyone is willing to share their stories of how cannabis has helped them overcome struggles.

For me I've never had a stable home or much guidance, so by the time I was 14 i was riding with friends doing a lot of messed up things. Around 20 i kinda broke and around 23 i became a complete recluse. I stopped speaking to all my friends, I was tired of doing bad everytime I walked out my home.

4 years ago I started taking sertaline which is a SSRI and for whatever reason i still hadn't thought of weed. Out of all people my Aunt came over with a preroll and my anxiety was so mild.

Been a smoker since. My life is starting to get better. I'm not angry constantly and I'm definitely not as lost. Oh and I dont take sertraline anymore. It did help. ALOT. But nothing compared to cannabis.

I know theres much more tragic stories out there then mine and if theres even a chance somebody would read something like this and find their way then I feel obligated to do it.

Hope this is an ok place to put this please share some stories if you guys are up to it :)

It has always been amusing stories that cannabis smoking "helps" people. Cannabis does not help people, only creates the illusion of this. For some reason you are not trying to find a better job, to improve your education, and no matter what your childhood and adolescence was, you are never too late to change for the better. Of course, it is easier to whine about it on the Internet and look for like-minded people so that it does not seem that only you are so bad, and feed your illusion about the "help" of marijuana. But you are not aware that Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in cannabis, is addictive and increases the risk of mental health complications. That is, after a while, you will become much worse and using cannabis will increase depression, anxiety, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, quick thoughts and impulsivity. These symptoms will worsen as the disease grows and for people with mental illness, the result may be more significant. Not to mention the damage to your body (like any foreign substance added to the body, marijuana can affect the health of the human brain, heart, gastrointestinal tract and lungs). I’m not trying to get into your head with this, it’s just enough to powder other people’s brains, which cannabis helps. And I recommend that you read, for example, this article: https://thcdetox.biz/blog/marijuana-health/, where, based on reliable data and sources, all the negative effects of marijuana on the human body are described. This is nothing more than a marketing ploy for cannabis sellers to make an illusion of help from it, this is a billion-dollar business and they are trying to be popularized with all available means, and people perceive it as a true flock as truth.
All good. Always think with your head, because the consequences are only for you, above all before yourself.

I'll agree with this statement, Fully.
But then I also started at the ripe age of 15.
Now at 57 as I read the above statement and look back, there's not one bit of fiction in this .
It has built a wall between me and my folks, past relationships, my work ethics took a long while to get where they needed to be, snap decision making and not worrying about the consequences, thrown me into a hermit, even since I have moved 500 plus miles away to start a new life.
Introduced me to undesirable people and went thru a spell of cocaine addiction that I weened myself off of by getting rid of the people that were hanging with me.
Almost wrecked my marriage of now 38 years cheating on my wife more than a dozen different times, lucky for me she's still with me. Has harmed my relationship with my son and grandson.
This was all in the early days mid 20's thru 40 ish, lots of this can be contributed to getting and having to get married at an early age, wife got pregnant still in high school but I stepped up to the plate and took care of my responsibility.
I can keep going on and on and on about this.
Things have turned around, Thank the Lord and I'm not a religious person to be saying this.
I turned out to be a highly sought after business manager, enough so to retire at 57.
Even made a business small business of the year and owners enterpeneur of the year back to back 2 years in a row.
Have also managed a highly acclaimed catv and internet installation group.
BUT I cannot contribute anything to weed other than a good time.

To each there own. You can look at it in many ways through each individual. Take the bad with the good. Can’t blame smoking pot to snorting cocaine or drinking alcohol. I grew up in that brainwashing generation. “Marijuana the gateway drug”. What a crock of shit the public school system tried to brainwash us with. Thanks Nancy Regan, it didn’t work. (By no means am I getting political). Don’t forget how it all started lots of history to this beautiful plant.

You are as surely negative about our plant as much as most are overly hyped about it.

Harvard medical proved that cannabis does not actively effect mental illness and that every case of induced schizophrenia the patient had previous or long standing tendencies for mental illness before the weed.

And smoking anything obviously is not great for the body.

I will read your link when i have some more time but am quite educated in the facts here.

Cannabis infused edibles cured mrs. Mmg’s Lifelong PCOS in less than a year while we waited for an appointment with a specialist.

Her cysts were over 50% gone in 6 months. The doctor thought she had the wrong test reaults.

I was born with a sick colon and and congenital tears in my abdomen.

Cannabis is the only substance that stops the constant swelling and spasms.

Read more info please without confirmation bias.

Edit: read the link. the posted article is biased spam for the pharmaceutical industry. The links provided at the bottom prove nothing. Just like the proof devoid article.

It might as well be the old ignorant government short film @1diesel1 posted above.

I got a buddy with crones disease if it wasn’t for marijuana he’d be drugged up with pharmaceuticals destroying his mind and body.
