I've been using the one from Green Plant Fuel, but their website is down currently. Can't remember exactly but I think it was about 1/4 to half the price of ThermX for the same %.

Saponin % is most important to make it effective.
That info is not available for this product.
If it were high it would brag about it on the label.
Probably just ground plant matter.

Here is link to what I have been using I got it on ebay.
10 % Saponin in Mojave Yucca Extract.

Key Benefits of Saponin
• wetting agent
• help with nutrient uptake
• help sprays (pesticide) to spread and stick better to plant parts (use less)
•anti-microbe
• anti-fungal
• promote beneficial microbial activity in the soil
• surfactant (reduces surface tension) better penetration
• bio-enhancer-added to products to make them work better
• manage excess salts (fertilizer build-up) in soil
• improve H2O penetration
• move spray solution into soil solution
• mildew cure (fungus)
• miticide (soapy quality suffocates mites)
• minimize wash-off (plant leaves)
• spray binder
• flushing of plants with yucca extract is cleaner than molasses
• triggers plants defensive response to anaerobic fungi
• biochemical inhibitors
• boosts potency of other products (adjuvant)

That is strange I heard the best wetting agent for coco was Yucca...LOL
Coco Wet $8 a bottle, doesnt foam like Yucca. It gets my vote.

Its natural and derived from Coconuts.
The foam is showing that is active.

I just went to check Coco wet out.
I did not see where it says derived from coconut??
Active Ingredient:
Modified Cocodiethanolamide
What is that?
$ 56 for 1 gallon shipped????
I can make hundreds of gallons for that price.
I will stick to powder.

Anyone else have a good source of a powdered Yucca that is high in saponin??

Just looked it up on wiki:

Cocamide DEA, or cocamide diethanolamine, is a diethanolamide made by reacting the mixture of fatty acids from coconut oils with diethanolamine.[1] It is a viscous liquid and is used as a foaming agent in bath products like shampoos and hand soaps, and in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent. See cocamide for the discussion of the lengths of carbon chains in the molecules in the mixture. The chemical formula of individual components is CH3(CH2)nC(=O)N(CH2CH2OH)2, where n typically ranges from 8 to 18.

I get it, hype is everything in this industry. I'll email them and find out what the saponin levels are in their product. The website does state it's from the yucca schidigera. But just being garbage plant material I doubt it.

I'd buy a product from a company before I bought anything off of ebay, I know that for sure.

The ebay product Mojave Gold Yucca has a certificate of authenticity you can download if you think it is fake.

I have compared it to other powders and none compare.
I would like to have other choices still.

Sorry, That was not directed at you!
It was meant for FiveAM.
He seemed nervous about ebay.
And I understand completely.
I always do my homework.
Still on a quest for the best!
Powder that is, if you can buy cold pressed, local and cheap, that is the way to go.
But shipping liquid is always expensive.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Just got off the phone with Harley Smith, he said the RAW Yucca is pure extract and falls in about 4-7%. And you need to keep your solution about .1% per 1000ppm of solution. Once you get about .5% you can get into problems. Probably rings true for yucca in general.

FYI look into soapbark(Quillaja saponaria) tree. Contains over 50 saponins, while yucca extract has 5. No clue if this is the way to go, but maybe its a start. Food for thought.
