I Retire In A Few Months And Plan To Do Some Car Racing.

I'm looking to buy a 6-8sec 1/4 mile car
+
a racecar for the race courses.

I plan to get a car made for the streets but runs 7-8sec 1/4mile I would love to get an older car and keep the body and exterior parts then drop in 900+HP/Turbo kit with the frame to match. upgrade to 8+gearbox/tranny and a current upgraded interior n instruments. I was looking at Barry White as a possibilities.
Any thoughts

My dad still has his 1970 plymouth duster 340 from when he was 16. Still in good shape, just haven't had it running in a while.

If it were me, I'd put the money into a Toyota Supra. But I get the appeal for older cars. They're just a lot heavier
